I bought the recent release of the Liara T'Soni statue, and my fiancee has reviewed it (and other figures from Kotobukiya's Bishoujo range.)
For those that are interested, here you go: http://geekygirlsper...ujo-figure.html

Also, Kotobukiya have new images on their FB page and an updated release of December 2012 for their next Mass Effect figure, FemShep.

I'm surprised at how many people didn't know it. I didn't even know it until my fiancee told me a few weeks before it shipped. It's the first Bishoujo figure to actually have any moving parts, so I wonder why they did it.

I would of liked to see a picture of what was underneath that jacket... know what I'm sayin?

Tell your fiancee next time to take pictures of ALL angles.

My fiancee, being a woman, will not think of photographing butts by default. It's kind of easier with the other Bishoujo statues, because Shunya Yama****a sticks 'em right out there. You'll probably get a better butt shot once they release the FemShep figure :)

Well she says in the review Liara has a "nicely shaped bum". How am I supposed to know if that's true if I can't see it?

Hahaha well, for you and all the people who love Liara, I'll take a photo of her butt and post it in this thread :)

Wow! It actually looks really good! I am so tempted to order it!

Thank you for posting your fiance's review, I had forgotten they made this in the first place since I am not the biggest Liara fan. :P

That being said I think I will save up for the Female Shepard one instead. Hopefully that one turns out as good as Liara. Is there an ETA on when the Female Shepard statue will be released?

FemShep still has no ETA. Basically, the way it goes:
1) Shunya Yama****a will release the concept art for a figure
2) Draft (paintless) sculpt of the figure is done and image appears online.
3) Complete figure is shown online.
3) Figure is released for sale.

There can be a bit of a wait from concept to release. Off the top of my head, FemShep concept art appeared first appeared at the same time as the completed Liara sculpt appeared, which was around Feb 2012. The image had an attached note that release was 3rd Quarter 2012. Liara took from the final painted sculpt being shown to retail release, approx. 4 months.

Why they picked for her to have the M-55 Argus though, I'll never understand... :?

Awesome review, I am still waiting for mine to come in the mail. It's taking forever :(.

The Shepard one looks great, I hope the sculpt turns out well. I like that they recently removed the high heel armor too.

This is great! I just got mine and I LOVE her. I was even thinking about doing a review myself. Because of the whole hoopla behind the initial concept, I am very impressed with the final product. Very cute and classy, and the colors and details are phenomenal. This statue is my first Bishoujo, I might just have to keep my eye out for others beyond the ME line.

While my fiancee decided to go hardcore into the Bishoujos, my first was Catwoman (which I got as an X-mas gift) and Liara is my second (which I bought myself.)

Between us, we now have all of the currently available ones :)

She certainly wasn't lying.
I believe you are the first person in the whole internet to take a shot of an important detail many other sites neglected to do. For that, I give you an A+.

The Liara figure is still readily available, as she only released a few weeks ago. If you look on eBay you can usually find some sellers with good prices :)

I can attest that even though I'm not an anime fan, this still looks good. Got it in the mail a couple of weeks ago. I look forward to the Femshep one and I hope the artist would make a tali one as well.

My only wish is that Kotobukiya make a Tali figure. That would be a day-1 pre-order for me :)

I just took a look at the entire line and they are all stunning! I want them all. :P

Thank you for the run down on how the process works! I am new to the statue collection thing, they look so well done and the attention to detail is stunning.

Gah, still tempted to pick this one up... Think I might just have to suck it up and fork over the dough or I'll regret it.:P

I also read they will be making more following Female Shepard, if I'm correct on that. I assume it will be Tali and probably Ashley or Miranda. Which makes me all the more tempted to get the entire set.

Yeah, Kotobukiya have said that there'll be other Mass Effect Bishoujos in the pipeline but chances are that they will only announce and release one at a time, so you might not see what character is next until they get the sculpt finalised for the FemShep figure and release images. While I'm not overly psyched for an Ashley figure I'd still buy her for completion's sake, and I would be keen to see an ME3 Jack (has to be with hair!) or Miranda figure.

But Tali will always be my number one want. They could even do her with her mask off, because the Bishoujos are known for the pretty faces on their figures.

And if you're going to get one, it's definitely best to do it ASAP. Once Bishoujos become harder and harder to find, they jump exponentially in price. Libby (my fiancee) got her Dark Phoenix and Rogue figures for US$60 each, and when you try and find them now you find people selling them for US$300+

As for where to buy them from, I've found that an eBay store called CornerStoreComics is one of the best. Their figures are always cheaper than the Recommended Retail Price, they offer International Shipping at a very reasonable price and they always ship quickly and always well-packaged. They get my Thumbs Up if you're interested.
