Hi,

I dont know if im posting this in the correct section, but i
think Bioware should've created alot moe weapons for the game,
especially long swords. I have'nt really found that many, and those i
do find arent really anything special.

There's also not enough
Two Handed swords. Recently i downloaded The Edge, wich is a DLC, but
it does'nt help my 2-H warrior one bit, neither does it help Alistair
with his crappy 1-H. And if i decided to play Sword and shield, what
will i be fighting with in the beginning ?

I think they should
release a DLC with new 1-H swords and new 2-H swords asap so i can
still get them before finishing the game.

Which im trying to postpone as
long as possible !

Thank you.

There are quite a few unique 2H weapons in the game that I found. The dragonslayer 2H in the mages tower, the smith's hammer from deep roads, that sun sword from cauthrien, etc.

I think they should make magical weapons as rare as possible. Having too many magical weapons may dilute the novelty of magical weapons.

I found lots of interesting 1H swords. Perhaps not that many 2Hnders, but still quite a few. Ofc, the most numerous good weapons were daggers.

Also, there is only one good mage staff, the one sold at the Circle, by lots. I missed more good staffs.

But as it´s said, the game contains a fair number of weapons and it´s fine as it is.

I'd like more weapon types with more talent trees. Where's the flails, the one handed hammers, the short swords, the spears and halberts? There's far too much focus on one handed swords and 2 handed swords in this game. Also the default weapons look utterly lame. There's not enough variation in the way weapons look.

To answer your question CorusDaar, the Watchers Keep DLC opens a new weapon called Starfang which can be a 1H sword or a 2H sword and is guaranteed to be the strongest in the game.

I played through that T-Kay , and the only sword i got was some sort of soldiers sword when you speak the wardens oath while interacting with a painting.

Respect on more skill trees and weapon variations ! It is kinda lame. Im just a medieval purist at heart, so when i dont get enough maces, or halberds, or polearms, or axes, etc. I get frustrated. If weapons in the world were that limited, we'd all be fighting with sticks.

Need one handed-spears with shields pl0x!

How is one of the oldest combination of infantry arms in the history of the world not present in almost any RPGs in existence?

Because they do not have a major presence in warfare between the fall of Rome and... ever.

Granted, there is also scarce dual-wielding though.

I want mine to throw rocks, that is at least still present.

What, you're telling me the peasants, footmen and infantrymen of the normans, east-asians, medieval germans are not counted?

Granted they started preferring the sword more after the fall of Rome, but a large amount of ground troops still used some form of spear and shield formation, although they moved on to pikes by now. Plus the vikings, normans and anglo-saxons were still using this formation long after Rome. They had a sword in belt too once they broke the momentum of their enemies charge with their spears but hey, I want that option!

Come to think of it, the number of unique items in this game is not that great. As for the importance of this scarcity, well, let me put it this way - it doesn't really make Dragon Age worse, but greater variety would probably make it more appealing.

That they moved on to pikes was what I was referring to. The viking-style assault would be awesome. And unless you have close ranks, the spear+shield would get unwieldy in a melee.

Edit: And Germans never count, EVER!

Yeah I guess the spear and shield isn't all that great for personal combat, but who cares! It looks awesome!
Plus I get to strip down and wear only gloves and boots, color my underwear to leather brown and mod in a cape, and call myself a Frank Miller Spartan!

And I only ask that so I can get my halberds and dual wielding spears

The very first rune slot weapon you get in the entire game is a 1H. You can get it before you leave Lothering. I always have too many 1H.

Eggggxactly!
Now all we need is the ability to dual wield shields and we're all set.

I'd settle for a spiked bucker/target. So we could wield two swords and a spiked shield.

Last time I heard of dual wielding shields was from the WoW forums, concerning paladins.

Hmm... I like it.

Be even better if it was 2 shields and 2 swords.

But you only have 2 hands, not 4!

Ah! You can strap a shield to each arm, and grip a sword in each fist!

Tadaa!

That's why Scottish Targes are attached to the forearm, not the hand.

I want more staffs. I don't want to do an entire Harrowmont quest to get his staff.

Duh.  You'd be a complete Scottish Highlander.  Sword in one hand, dagger in the other, Targe on the arm, screaming about Freedom while you cut off English heads and get struck by lightning.

I could be confusing a few things there, but I think that's historically accurate.

They added more weapons/armor in both available DLC packages. It isn't too much of a stretch to believe this would be a common occurrence in future DLC installments.

In fact I think I would prefer it this way, get some interesting side stories with the trinkets and what not thrown in for spice rather than just a big spewing of items.

I think you're missing the part where flowers burst forth from the ground where they step on!
And spitting acid, and tongue piercings the shape of a spear!
