"I'm happy with the ending as it is." A thread for the people who have no problems with the endings after the EC.

As for me I never expected EC to fix the problems I had with the endings (namely the Catalyst) in the first place, so I'm not really disappointed. Plus at the end of the day it's just a game with a bad ending (personal opinion), not the first not the last and I've seen much much worse.
Moreover I remember having a lot of fun while playing it, so not a total loss

Don't even engage with them anymore. If they continue doing this crap, just PM a mod with a link to their post and move on.

They don't....its not a cliffhanger in any way, shape or form.....he either Lives or he Dies....
The only thing left up for interpretation is "how Shepard spends the rest of his days, if he survives".....

I now see that i derailed the thread in beginning with an unnecessary agressive response...let us not derail it any further.

1) Endings are vastly different now. No more RGB endings that look identical. There are as many as 7 vastly different endings depending on EMS.
2) Catalyst's origin explained (no longer an inexplicable infallible God-like presence). The fact that he was originally created to end the cycle but proceeded to turn his creators into the first Reapers gave it an added interesting twist.
3) More dialogue options when talking to the Catalyst. He provides much better justifications for each of the 3 choices this time round and Shepard gets to question all his choices.
4) Earth bound squad members reappearing at the Normandy explained.
5) Emotional farewell (of sorts) with the LI now possible.
6) Epilogue slides provide a better sense of emotional closure. The choice of narrator and voice acting for each ending is just damn perfect!
7) Epilogue slides reflect user choices made throughout the trilogy (endings are more personalised).
8) Endings are more optimistic. Normandy no longer stuck on unknown planet. Mass Relays can be rebuilt.
With a high enough EMS, all the endings provide a sense of optimism and hope for the future. Quarians unmasked, Krogan babies, Jack and her students, Samara and her daughter etc. What's not to love?
9) An additional ending to reflect the desires of gamers who want to tell the Catalyst off and seek no compromise with the Reapers
10) Additional soundtrack, including a remix of 'An End, Once And For All' and new tracks for each of the endings. My personal favourite has to be "I Am Alive And I Am Not Alone".
11) Emotional memorial scene with the Normandy crew where LI gets to place Shepard's name on the wall. So beautiful. So heart-wrenching.
12) The Geth now report in during the space battle.
13) Cutscene explains how Hackett knew about Shepard reaching the citadel.
When most of the problems/questions regarding the last 10 minutes of a 100+ hours trilogy are fixed/clarified and in addition there are new fully rendered cutscenes, in game cinematics, epilogue slides and soundtrack added to vastly improve the ending, one has to be a nitpicker of the highest order in order to still consider the ending series-breaking. (That was a long sentence but it has to be said)

I can also understand why some players/fans still hate the endings, even after the EC. The EC still have problems but since this isn't a "I hate the EC" thread, I'll spare the negatives for another time and only think of the positives.
My rating for the endings went from a 2 to about an 8. Still could use more Garrus though. Lol

Why? It's a rock, in the middle of no where.
At best, it deserves to be nuked because it's full of Cerberus.

Just popping in to say: I like the endings and have no problems with them. Sure, they are not perfect, I mean, what is perfect ? But they have earned a solid GOOD from me.
Uhm.... Mass Effect 3's ending is far from "good". It is perhaps the worse ending in a video game that I've ever experianced.
Considering I hold the single player campaign endings of Call of Duty higher, this is a bad thing.

When I did the EC and I saw the Geth report in, I was like: Waaaaiiit a minute, did the Geth report in in the Original Cut?? NO!! OH This is nice!
Just one of the minor things that really stood out in my opinion:)

I can't express how utterly relieved I felt when I noticed that.
(Of course, they had no choice but to say they wouldn't change the endings but only offer clarification. Had they said anything different, many people would have expected the ending scenario to be completely replaced)

I would like to add that Bioware didn't exactly tell the truth about not changing the endings.
when has ANY game developer ever told the WHOLE truth about ANYTHING that they were going to do with the game they were making?
but i'm with you, glad they did change things when they said that they would.
for you others, does shepard really need to fart rainbows to make the ending good?
