If you agree to make a deal with the desire demon to leave Conner, she offers you a choice of several rewards. One is the blood magic specialization, but the other two options are pleasure and an ability increase. What do these actually do for your character? I tried going back to my save before the choice and testing these other 2 options, but I can't tell what they actually do, if anything. I'm particularly curious what the "increase my abilities" thing does.

i'm curious as well.
Also, can you succeed at this quest by going to the circle for help and if so what are the downfalls if any? I have a save game before this and I'm really curious as I already took the 'sacrifice the mom' approach to its conclusion.

She either gives you a good lay (not in the RL regrettably) A book that grants 1 (yes just one) point to use in a skill or spell, she can give +20 approval from anyone in your current party, or blood mage specialization.
Me personally I'm kind of curious as to whether this is the only time you can learn to be a blood mage? Has anyone else come across another way? That would be super helpful.

So in the sense of practicality, why would you attack the demon? As far as I know you never have to hear from her again and there is no penalty to taking one of her choices. Why would anyone kill her? You cost yourself a reward for the sake of your morality outside the game. **** that ****, kid's got a surprise coming in a few years, little possessed bastard.

I was wondering what the 'pleasure' choice resulted in... I mean it's fairly obvious but I'm curious if there was a video clip ala the other romances.

Agree to listen to her and stuff. Then you have the option to select "What can you offer me?" or something. I already posted the results to all the options up to, so check it.

It was on the Arl Eamon quest for me, Jowan the blood mage sent me into the Fade and after killing the demon like 2-3 times I got a final confrontation where we got to chit chat or fight. With demonic boobies like those hanging in front of me, I chose the former.

Your main must enter the Fade as a mage and talk to her in order to be grant the option.

I found out that if you "Save Game" before talking to her you can ask for the Blood Mage skill, than go through the cut scenes and talk to Conners Mother and Uncle (I think) and the let the game alto-save after that. Reload your "Save Game" and you will see the Blood Mage specialization is now open and you can kill or take a different award from the Desire Demon.

Can you get Blood Magic with Wynne? I know Morrigan, Jowan, and (presumably) Irving refuse to even consider dealing with the demon, but Wynne didn't have the character automatically refusing but let you choose. I picked saving Connor, but is it possible for her to get it?

You need to be a mage.

You have to be on your own character to do the deal with the demon. That means the PC must be a mage. And a wicked, wicked mage at that to even consider such a thing!

Oh, I definately fit that category. I even poured dragon blood in Andraste's ashes. I thought she might be a little thirsty.

You can intimidate her to give it to you and still save Connor.

That free spell is NICE though. You can intimidate the Demon for that as well, but sometimes, well, it's fun not to. Because sometimes a mage can be a jerk.
