That free spell is NICE though. You can intimidate the Demon for that as well, but sometimes, well, it's fun not to. Because sometimes a mage can be a jerk.

I prefer scaring the poop out of her, and then threatening her out of one of her offers (2 intimidate checks, but with full persuasion I've always passed them). Makes me feel especially badass.

You get one intimidate to scare her into going away without fighting you. I failed that one with my first mage (and decided to let her have Connor in return for blood magic), and passed it with my second. You then get one to see if you can scare her into giving you one of the bribes. I failed that one with my second mage, and elected to kill the demon as a punishment for holding out.
