Well I'll admit, the boss battle was too long, but the party conversations, the fact it was a bit more light-hearted than the rest of the game, the choice to go stealth (which was different) or run in with weapons, I find it had a lot of good elements.
The DLC felt like a great mini-adventure, starting out with a nice Wyvern Hunt through some rather large environments, then going to a party at the Chateau in the evening, then the infiltration.
I think the story could certainly have had more choices, I for one wanted to kill Tallis as she has some kind of mutated alien face that should be destroyed with fire, but I understand that the character is probably important to the future of the universe.
Make DA3 like Mark of the Assassin

Have we recieved any word that they are going to make the elves less unattractive? Or are they going to just give them more personality like Tallis to compensate?

Well the elves themselves Im not too worried about, but her? She looks like a monster. Her upper jaw was so hilariously out of proportion as if she somehow had a snout like a seal. Just eurghh, were they trying to teach us a lesson in deformed people?

OP - I take your point about varied combat but if the different combat types are forced on the player then its no better IMO. The option to complete a mission via stealth, brute force or diplomacy would be an improvement I think.
Also I hear the ending to mota was horribly static, i'd hope they don't make the new pc as helpless as hawke

Absolutely not. MotA was booring introduction for Felicia day´s Tallis character. There was nothing new introduced into the DA universe, unless one counts the ridiculous looking Orlesians with strange colourfull outfits and strange little WoW monsters. There was no discussion outside Tallis presence and jokes were outright lame. I just can´t think of any reason for the dlc´s existance. The DA2 ending style continued, nothing you chose to do (if there was such a change) had any effect on the outcome.

It was a step in the right direction gameplay wise but still had fair way to go. It would be bad idea to just make DA3 like DA2:MoTA even though MoTA was an improvement over DA2 core title it still had a lot of room for improvement.
