Ok, so you role-played a genocidal Shep, a megalomaniacal Shep and a despot Shep. Assuming you play the game again, why not try to role-play a morally virtous one?

The geno- from the world genocide comes from the Greek word genos, meaning people.  Geth are not people nor is EDI.  It is impossible to commit genocide by killing machines.

And for the others

If use choose the reject ending which I am assuming you did, you might notice he turns the crucible off if you turn around and shoot him or outright reject his solutions.  He was giving you choice because he wanted to.

And as far as your crime against mankind stupidity, How the flying Harvesters is letting every advanced species die not a crime against mankind?  You have the power to save everyone and you instead walk away and let them die.  All their blood is on your hands and you carry all the guilt for their deaths because you could have saved them and you turned your back on not only humanity, but all the other advanced aliens.

If you pick destroy, the Geth and EDI die.  Tough but if you pick reject you still are directly responsible for their deaths and the Asari, Turians, Humans, Volus, Elcor, Drell, Hanar.  Your point is moot.

If you pick Control, nobody dies.  And as far as the mass enslavement BS rant goes, the Reapers are machines given purpose and functionality by the Catalyst and vice versa.  You can't enslave the Reapers no more than you can enslave your own hands.  They are meant to serve the catalyst.  If you become the Catalyst they are your hands, existension of your will.

If you pick Synthesis, as far as the mass molestation BS goes, do you know what molestation means?  Now look at all those people spared death with the Reapers leaving.  Do they look "bothered" or "molested" to you?  Just because you headcanoned Synthesis to being some atrocity does not mean you are right as the ending proves otherwise.  Nobody (well maybe sans husks) would be complaining that they got transhumaned and upgraded to save them from certain destruction.

Picking reject is the only war crime and you should be ashamed for even thinking it.  But instead you take pride and brutally sacrificing all of this cycle so they might dent the Reapers a little.  I hope to god you never get any high rank and have to make decisions for large amounts of people.

The cycle was, at the time, the ONLY means of solving the dilemma that was the conflict of organics versus synthetics.  He's even aware his solution isn't perfect.  He'd rather go synthesis and remove the elements that start the problem in the first place.  Problem is he can't, and while his solution isn't the best idea, it's the only one that works, therefore he has to do it.

Remember, he's a machine.

Machines can be broken. Can you break this Starchild nonsense? Nope. If he was so hell-bent on making organics not get killed by synthetics then he could have looked at Rannoch where Geth and Quarians are happily hugging each other and rebuilding stuff and then he could have GTFO into his stupid Dark Space and taken Reapers with him. Did he do that? Nope. Starbrat is not a victim of the problem, he's a freaking murderer.

a) Hackett tells you.  Anderson tells you.  Glyph updates Liara when you go in there how the resistance is going (horribly if you don't want to go find it).  The game makes it quite clear that this longshot is your only way.

During all ME trilogy a lot of people/aliens told Shep a lot of things that are impossible. He proven them wrong.

B) Shepard is stuck on the Citadel in some inner labyrinthian cave and mortally wounded.  You can bet your sweet derriere it is not going to be old age.  And it doesn't matter what you saw, everyone died.
c) Your resistance from the Fall of Earth to firing the crucible is a terrible war with allied forces losing continuously.
d) It doesn't matter "how much you failed" the Reapers would build more forces up from the dead and indoctrinated and be completely replenished regardless of how much damage you did.  You gained nothing.
e) The stargazer is not asari.  It is said that previous cycle fought a war implying that they were not of that cycle.

Now you just making things up. Sorry, but if its not confirmed in game, it didn't happen. It could've happen, but no way to pick one headcanon over another. I pick mine.

silentassassin264 wrote...
Yes there is something implying he could.  If you listened to how the Crucible worked, it needed what adminstered the relay network (the catalysyt) to fire anything worth a [pyjack].  That would have been easy except the Catalyst that adminstered the relay network was not some object but a sentient being that could choose to interact with it.  If the Catalyst did not want to interact with the Crucible, it didn't.

You making things up again. Even if it was implied, unless it was explicitly stated, it's just your interpretation/headcanon/fanfiction.

I am not making anything up.  Vendetta tells you how the Crucible works in the Cerberus HQ.  It should be common sense when you find out the Catalyst is sentient and I am in turn proven right in the reject ending when he does just turn it off and walk away.  You are the one with an insane headcanon that you are using to shield common sense.

No you can't smart aleck because genos specifically refers to human beings.  Genos does not refer to insects, Vorcha, rodents, Turians, Asari, Geth, etc.

Sorry, but saying repeatedly that "surely all I said is just common sense" does not add any credibility to your interpretation. It's still just your personal interpretation, nothing more.

**** me, you're actually using a semantic loophole to make a case for genocide? As for the post you quoted, you'll forgive me if I dont take my moral lead from someone who describes the death of EDI and an entire species of sentient machines as being little more than tough luck! Take a class in ethics lad, you're on your arse.

And now you pull out racism because you fail to understand language.  Well let me give you a linguistics lesson.  Genos refers ONLY to human beings.  If you killed all the Insects or all the Quarians or all the Geth, it is impossible for it to be GENOcide because they are not GENOS, human beings.  If you kill all insects, it is insecticide, since Quarians and Geth have no Greek roots it would be something like Quariacide or Gethicide if you killed all of them but it would not and could not be genocide because they are not genos.
