Definitely love all the little nods to Baldur's Gate throughout the game.  Thought it would be fun to see what others had discovered.

For example, if you read the description on the soiled pantaloons, it says they were once gold or silver.

Aye, but my favorite is the bitter barmaid named Edwina.

Loved that when I saw it, they should have a 'Uncle Boo' advice page! :D

Well, the giant rats and the line "It's like the start of every adventure story my grandpa used to tell me" reminded me a lot of Dark Alliance.

All great adventures start with fighting rats, eh? (Noble origin. Gilmore mentions it.)

Also.. Arl Foreshadow.

In the Pearl, the first time you go in, beside's Isabella, there is another member of her pirate crew in there. For those who played NWN2, notice the name.

First time I saw that I was like WTF?

Of course, given NWN2 OC ending, he gets squashed by rocks. Maybe this is his reincarnation.

Nalia gets a shout out in one of the codexes. Not sure where I read it now, but it was something to do with magic.

Gaxkang was easily the best (and roughest) reference around, though. :)

Hahaha, you know I've kept the pantaloons with all my characters on the offchance that we can collect them across games again?

I wish that old "YOU HAVE BEEN WAYLAID BY ENEMIES AND MUST DEFEND YOURSELF" sound file was still around for the random encounters... though I may well be the only one, since I remember people hating it.

Same here Image IPB im also hoarding codex only items, even if they appear useless... I dunno

It would be HILARIOUS if you run across a group of overdressed foppish bandits that shouted this at you before they attacked.  That should SO be a random encounter in the Ostagar DLC.

I find the "gather your party and venture forth?" at area transitions amusing still--it helps that the game doesn't SHOUT it at you.

while it might not be included in the game, i heard it clearly in my head every time there was a random encounter

Well in BG2 it was annoying because it prevented you from transitioning. In DAO it's just confirmation that you actually want to transition.

I believe some of the wolve's howling sounds (the howl 'warcry' they make specifically) are the same as the old BG ones

I think it's the giant rat codex, as I recall that it was that she held a lecture on how giant rats did not pose any risk whatsoever before being killed by giant rats the following year...

While I appreciated Jim Cummings doing his Gorion voice for the tutor in the Noble Origin, I think it'd have been all the sweeter had he opened up with: Ah, my child I am glad I have found you."

I'd have squeed like a little girl.

I think I recall, "I think I'm coughing up blood" too, but I may be mistaken.

Also, the Cameo Cowl item, I think, is a reference to Aerie. It talks about how it always projects an image of a sweet looking elven lass over the wearer's face but that it's really annoying. The description ends with someone talking about "fixing the stutter".

I kept expecting the Frank Welker (I think) voiced Templar (the one with the desire demon family) in the Circle Tower quest to say "Your time has come, primate!".

It's too bad the greedy merchant in Lothering doesn't say "I love money, yes I do". That was always my favorite sound bite from Baldur's.

I'm not sure about this because I haven't been able to recreate, but does one of the female options at the Pearl say "so you want to have a look at me diddies?"

Spend some time at the Pearl and you might hear the line "Hey sexy, do you want to take a look at me ditties?"
