Hey guys i tried mass effect 1  a few months back and could not get used to it so i will try again last time i was a soldier and found it quite hard to play, so whats an all-round powerful character to start this with im going normal mode first then perhaps insanity.
Is it true biotics are OP in ME1?

Dear God, learn how to form sentences.

If you couldn't play solider, the simplest and toughest class in the game, then you really probably can't handle the others.

If this game is 'too hard' for you (LOLOLOL) then you need to stop playing on levels above your skills and click down to casual. Or go back to COD or something.

No i am just so used to infiltrators in ME2 AND 3 and done those games on insanity , I Thought i would try a soldier i cant get used to it on me1 so need to try a new character and i do not want to play infiltrator again.I dont play cod and battlefield games like that game is not hard,i needed to get used to the pre mass effect2-3 combat system as me1 is way different to2 and 3 when it comes to combat.
And besides many people dont care about the grammar police as english aint the only language in the world and get a life ty bye.

Tricky. I'm one of those who finds the ME1 soldier to be *THE* all round powerful character class. Put it like this, I'm not all that much of a gamer but on low difficulty I played an ME1 soldier through a completionist run of ME1 without dying more than 2-3 times, and that was the very first playthrough. Even on tougher settings I can get through the first levels without getting killed or even coming close. Later playthroughs with caster classes like Engineer and Adept I got killed more on the same difficulty setting even though I knew what to expect. That's early on though, later (after I'd died about 100 times) I found the Engineer and Adept to be hugely powerful, and the Adept's Singularity talent in particular is an instant I Win button for some fights.

Probably makes a big difference with how you play the game. If you're happy to shoot from cover and/or snipe from distance then a Soldier is plenty tough and nigh on indestructible once you've got access to heavy armour, but then even the light armoured classes can survive just fine that way. I'd also look at weapons and where you invest your skill points. For example, and counter intuitively, the pistol is an incredibly powerful weapon and can be a fight winner with the Marksman power activated at the right time, and some people will run around with that ready in preference to an assault rifle.

Other than that I'd say that once you've got the other squadmates it's less about your PC class and more about who you choose to take with you on each mission and how you use them. If you're a soldier then Liara and Tali can easily be your only squadmates for much of the game, but if you're an Adept then so many of Liara's powers overlap with your own that you're better off turning Ashley or Wrex into a tank and bringing them along instead. And so on.
