Hello,

In the very last Paragon/Renegade dialog tree of the game (where you have a possibility to convince the Illusive Man to shoot himself, whether blue or red), those options are NOW grayed out.  I cannot choose them, under ANY ending possibility, whereas prior to the Extended Cut, I always had that option.

Any idea why?

I can choose them.
My rep is full, paragon. And I have a little bit of Renegade and I can choose both choices.

Did you build up your reputation before doing the cerberus HQ?

Someone mentioned that the paragon/renegade choices would be greyed out if you didn't make the required paragon/renegade choices during the first two conversations with TIM (mars base + temple approach). Which happened during my last play through. So, you have to be extremely paragon or renegade when conversing with TIM

I was - which is why I am confused. In my pre-extended cut play-through, I had those two final choices.

I then did as Bioware suggested - use the savegame that is created after you complete the game - as the starting point for the extended cut play-through. There are no Paragon/Renegade choices except for that last one, which is grayed out. Nothing has changed from my pre-EC to post-EC play-through.

I'm confused.

Yup, "full" paragon with a little renegade, as a poster above mentioned.

Same with me. Just did my second playthrough and finished it today. I had even more Paragon with the second playthrough character than the first and it was grayed out for me as well. When i did it with the first playthrough character with no problem.

I believe that you must always use the "Investigate" options whenever talking to TIM (which open up some renegade/paragon choices) and you must always choose renegade or paragon choices when talking to him through out the entire game.
