Im noticing ALOT, that 1 or more of my allies will sit and watch me fight, and do nothing, until i physically make them do it...Their tactics are the same theyve been, on aggressive, they simply wont attack...No i dont have "Hold" on...Though i have done that ttoo, lol...But seriously, whats the deal...
Justice, my main tank was standing around alot at the end of awakeing, now im running witch hunt, and 2 of my guys, even the main, watched me fight "Veil Tears", and would stand still while the Tears were invisible..Leaving me to deal with the 3 Guardians myself...This is one example of many, can anyone tell me what im doing wrong? Ive had to add the regular tactic "-Enemy:Nearest Visible>Attack-" to try and force them to do something, and even then its hit or miss..
Now i did notice in bad lag spikes, it would just a'appear' as if none would attack..What im describing here, are ideal running conditons, with no tactics being issued/followed...Ive even tried using the premade tactics, and ended with the same result at times...Again, this is not constant, but ends up being catastrophic to the battle when it does occur..
Any help, or tips are greatly appreciated..This is still my 1st playthrough and im still learning..Ive only beaten DAO, and awakening..Im just now on my 1st playthrough of the added campaigns...
Allies (aggressive) not attacking..

Arienne (Witch Hunt) is absolutely refusing to attack, no matter how i set her up...Im still early on, so ive only 4 allies total...Is this a known problem? Ive set her dam tact up so many times, nothing works..Shes literally spectating, forcing me to control her!

It happens to me,im stuck on a boss fight now too i would have beaten only wynne refuses to use mana potions so she can keep healing and it cost me a fight i was so close to winning, even when i keep switching to her to heal for myself when i switch back to another character wynne will just stop and only heal when her mana regenerates by itself,
Im thinking of playing right now but going to the fight with 3 warrior tanks and wynne maybe she can keep me alive then, Also a few times after i cast a spell with wynne she has litrally dropped dead for no reason,i know she is old but come on!

I'm no expert on this, but my guess is that there are a number of things that can cause a character to fail to attack.
Some reasons might include:
--not enough stamina or mana to perform the tactics set in the menu
--cannot plot a movement path to the enemy the character is set to attack (doors and other obstacles sometimes cause this)
--character is stunned or otherwise immobilized by an enemy and possibly fails to reinitiate attack
after becoming "unstunned"
--something glitchy happens -- with the character reverting to his/her default set of tactics, and this messing up whatever custom tactics that may have been set by the player. At least I have a theory that this sometimes happens....
--probably other reasons I haven't thought of, too
******
Best solution is to manually control the character that is not responding. Sometimes all it takes is to switch control and set the character to attack an enemy -- afterwards the charcter may continue to run normally on his/her set tactics.
