Another option would be making a game about alternate realities finding access to eachother and trying to force their ending into the other reality. Your "starting reality" and background would depend on your savegame from ME3. Would be a pain to write a good story for that, but it's definitely possible. Even the "refuse" option could be written into it, with the Reapers being the agressors and the first ones to try to merge these other realities into their reality.

This is a semi-interesting idea: ME4⁴

Source, because the DLC files say otherwise.

Actually the information presented in the leak suggests the following progress of events:
  • Find seemingly indoctrinated miners
  • Investigate possible Reaper incursion
  • Find our that the indoctrination is not the same as usual and people recover afterwards with no memory of their experiences
  • Theorise that this is a reaper that has rebelled and is being kinda-nice
  • Finally find out that it is actually the last member of the race that built the Reapers-as-synthetics and the Catalyst (Before the Catalyst turned the Reapers into goo-holding racial-museums)
  • Enlist the last of the Leviathans (A huge organic being the size and shape of a Sovereign-class Reaper) as war asset
  • At the End, taunt Catalyst with this info.
  • Find out that Harbinger is the Leviathan-milkshake reaper
"Assume Leviathan is a reaper->find out it isn't" is a logical progression
"Assume Leviathan is the last of a race that build the reapers even though you know nothing about them-> assume Leviathan is a rogue reaper" is not a progression that makes sense.

This is still true. They will destroy the fundamental fabric of the ME Universe, and retcon/change all previous plans that were hinted at, all in a desperate bid to shore up the Catalyst and its asinine Synthesis ‘solution’ (which isn’t).

Is it wrong of me to want to play this DLC now? Guess that makes me a bad person huh?

I think it's pretty clear that no DLC will take place after the ending

Or set anything in the future so far ahead that it doesn't matter which ending you picked.

There is no way you can do this

Or it won't.

Let's be reasonable here.

You were right. I mean, what got taken apart this time to further help prop up the endings?

The rachni
The Leviathan
The Reapers (again)
Indoctrination (when exactly did we figure out how to stop it?)
Shepard's ability to think with the slightest fraction of common sense (yeah, let's open up the indoctrination orb on the assumption that it can't get at me because i hardly know it.)

How does Leviathan prop up synthesis?

I fail to see it.

Meh. Even if one thought that Leviathan did this very thing, it didn't change my mind about preferring Destroy as the ending.

That is a funny thing. Leviathans and Reapers (as factions) are fighting with eachother, and are both synthetic, so synthesis do **** about it.

But still, it is possible Leviathans are synthesised, and the reapers are simply synthetic.

Still, i prefer to destroy them by battle, not by some weapon and three choices. There should be red dlc, when you can figure out it was all in your head, and in reality this is some big canon to shot reapers.
