Forget for a moment anything that has to do with Tali, Legion, the ending or EMS. Based solely on the merits of each species as a whole, and given that you are unable to broker a peace between the two, which race would you spare?

Take into account the whole storyline of the conflict. You can take Tali and Legion into account only as an aspect of the species and information they provide, as in don't say "I'd save Quarians because Tali is my LI" or "I only liked Legion, kill the Geth."

On my first playthrough, when i was unable to broker peace, i took the Quarians, because those were my orders. Hackett said we need the quarians to run supply lines, so go get them. If we really are that strained in that field, then logically, choosing the geth is a bad choice, since they are actualy the worst fleet in the galaxy for making supply runs.

Sorry, that doesnt actualy have anything to do with morals, but that was my reasoning.

I'd pick the Geth because it was the Quarians fault. The whole morning war was because once they realized that they had become true AIs they tried to kill them to cover it up since it was against council rules. As true AIs they deserved to be treated as equals, as any intelligent, calculus capable organic. They should have accepted what they had done, given the Geth rights and if the council got mad, see how they fared against a flotilla of Geth Dreadnoughts.

In ME3 they instigated the issue again. They attacked the Geth and tried to wipe them out. Yeah Rannoch was there homeworld but they lost it because they tried to kill an entire species. They should have followed Koris and colonized a new world. Since they didn't, I have no sympathy for them provoking another war.

Yeah that's a strategic decision. I was thinking of aspects of each like the Quarian's racism, or the matter of Geth being 'alive' or not, or their readiness to ally with the Reapers in self-defense. Things like that.

Geth are just machines, they can be rebuilt. Organics can't be.

I brokered peace between the two. But if I had too, I would save the geth.

1. Geth have a larger fleet.

2. The Quarians are idiots and started this war, along with the other one 300 years ago.

3. I sympathize with the Geth more. Even after the Quarian fleet is destroyed, the Geth seem regretful, where as the quarians are more like 'F yeah! We did it!'

Geth. In a moral sense, it was the quarian government's own irrational fear and stupidity that led to them being driven from Rannoch.

Realistically, I would still pick the geth because they are perhaps the strongest military force in the galaxy. They have a high number of dreadnaughts, they don't require material resources for personal sustenance, and are not limited by organic conventions.

Quarians started the Morning War. They are the ones responsible. I hate Quarians. Gypsies, the lot of them!

Also, to the people that say kill the Quarians cuz they started it... That was 10 generations ago, and a large portion didnt want to deactivate the geth, it was basically the decision of the government

This, I couldn't ever wipe out a race because their government has made bad decisions, that's awful.
I could wipe out the Geth though, considering I was going to pick Destroy anyway :(

It was also the decision of the government to go to war again.

A big point many miss is that your entire detour to Rannoch was to help the Quarians at the Geth's expense, attacking the dreadnought, protecting their liveships, saving their admiral, destroying the Reaper, suddenly ditching them undoes everything you've done and looks like a major asspull on Shepard's part.                                                            People also say 'the Quarians' are too aggressive and started the war, Gerrel is not the Quarians. I would've chosen them because of the mIllions of innocent non-millitary men, women and children who were dragged along for the ride.

It would take a while to explain
This, explains the plot, but me trying to describe it would probably turn out to be a mess. But the gypsies in it are hilarious and the primary gypsy is one of the most charismatic characters in the movie. Then again, not all gypsies are Brad Pitt though...:?

Two things to note:

The Geth chose not to communicate with anyone about the situation, even though they were open to the idea of The Creators returning home.

They sided with the Reapers to solve their own problems... twice...

Dont get me wrong, I like the Geth, they are as alive as the Quarians to me, but i feel like everyone just hates the Quarians because its the progressive hipster thing to do...
