I never said I agreed with him not waiting for shepard to be closer to be off, but I have to admit that the ship had to go, as from the point the geth accepted reaper aid to atleast the destruction of the reaper, retreat was not an option if any other was available as at that point leaving means the reapers gain a massive asset.

Whats the point in destroying a disabled ship? It was no longer a threat, and it would have been more useful if they kept it working. They were also suposed to be fleeing at this point in time. You know, that whole "save our civilians" thing.

It not the quarian's fault the geth pressed the save us reapers we will help destroy all organics if you bail us out of a war we've lost button.  Simple answer is before betraying the galaxy again geth were about to lose the war so its not the quarian's fault they are in trouble when shepard arrives, plus its kinda shepard's job to stop the reapers and their pawns.

The Geth wouldn't have gone to the Reapers had those warmongering idiots not attacked them! Hell yes it's their fault!

And on that note I'm done. My edit and yeah Quarians have to be one of the most irritating fictional races I've dealt with.

No it isn't.  The reapers would have came to them anyways and since reaper programing is stronger than geth programing and the prothean cycle proves the reapers will rewrite the cycle's synthetics to serve their ends and they would have gotten into the consensus regardless, the only difference is with the quarian's there it was a willing acceptance (despite knowing the consequence) and somebody was there too know the consesus was being taken over before it was too late.

Honestly I find the quarian's more sympathetic and less iritating than most of the councial races.  Not to mention I can't help but feel that without the reapers the quarian story would have been humanity's story just one chapter behind and our synthetics would have been created to use in the inevitable war with the batarians instead of industry.

I can agree with you there. The Quarians made a mistake and were punished for it. They share a lot of attributes with the human race. And honestly, I can easily see us making the same mistakes if put in that situation. The Asari hid knowledge and used it to rule the galaxy, while the Turians and Salarians willingly decided genocide was cool. Everyone's got an angle.

I'd save the quarians because Xala'Raan is my LI.

I will never understand the interest in her

@Anvos: Yeah suffice to say I disagree and I have little interest in repeating this wall of text war. Already had one...in this thread no less.

I can't find myself to be overly sympathetic either. Maybe if they learned from their mistakes...but as it is? No.

It's a moral failing either way.

The Geth are going to die regardless of what I do though.

It adds a rather unpleasant blemish to my Shepard's story.

My initial response was frustration with the Quarians for being so intent on war. However, after learning how opposed the majority of the Civilian fleet and probably a chunk of the rest of the Migrant Fleet was to it, I attributed it to bad leadership. I don't believe the Quarians as a people should take the blame and annihilation just because of the bad leadership from Xen, Gerrel, and Raan.

The Geth would have made a better choice by simply giving up Rannoch openly and fleeing rather than becoming slaves to the Reapers anyways. If they had shown the Quarians they were willing to give it up peacefully, it's doubtful the Quarians would wish to continue to have war with them even if Gerrel had demanded it. Geth can survive in far more places than Quarians can, Rannoch should mean very little to them.
