First question: can you avoid getting the new rare lvl IV ammo consumables?

Now... I don't have all the character appearences maxed and I don't have all the rare gear mods (warfighter package, commando package and so on...) but I get those lame ammo consumables anyway. Is this supposed to happen? Aren't I being cheated out of real rares with lame consumables?

I also had nother question, how do you max out your uncommon weapons and gear mods? I've been buying PSP packs and I maxed out my rares and got a few ultra rares but for the sake of completion I'd like to max out the uncommons too. When I bought veteran packs all I got was junk consumables.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Veteran packs are the way to go for maxing out uncommon weapons. I've also heard that they're good for uncommon gear, but I haven't had any luck.

If your looking to max uncommons than PSP probably isn't the way to go. Would be better to spam regular Spectre packs, or even Veteran packs.

It gives you the level IV ammo in place of already-maxed character cards. So whereas in the old days you would have gotten 20 Asari Adept character cards after maxing her appearance out, you get 20 level IV ammos instead. This has no bearing on your likelihood to get other characters, though. RNG is RNG in that case.

Uncommon weapons you'll get from the Veteran packs most efficiently. Uncommon weapon mods, you might want to buy Spectre packs for those (PSPs I assume might give you uncommon mods too, not sure on that though since I maxed mine out before PSPs became permanent).

What Holden said. Also, gear upgrades are rather tough to come by. I'd still stick to Specters and PSPs, even for the 'uncommon' ones.

Alright, thank you all. The only reason I'm not convinced about the Veteran packs is because I bout three or four and never got any weapon or permanent gear mods... Just consumables. Seems like a big waste to me.

Anyway I'll keep at it.

Thank you.

How come these uncommon mods won't show up in Vet packs ?
(thanks for the tip anyway)

They used to just give you character cards, regardless if all your options for those characters were maxed out. The only thing this was useful for was promoting.

So in stead they gave us level IV ammo, which is actually useful in game.

Ultra Rares are what their name suggests. Once you've maxed out all your normal Rares, you'll see many, many packs without a weapon in between UR findings.

That's just how it works.

Veteran packs contain anything with the uncommon designation, and a small chance of a Rare. No URs in Veteran, though.

I think they actually might, but I seem to recall them dropping at a much faster rate in SPs and the few PSPs I bought during PSP week than in Veteran packs. Honestly, I don't have any documentation to corroborate that, and it's been a while since then, but that's what I remember.  But my advice is to just focus on the weapons, and the mods will come along for the ride. If you still need your uncommons maxed, spam Vet packs. If it's rares, go for the PSPs (better bang for your buck there). The uncommon mods and uncommon/rare gears will trickle in as you build up your weapons. B)

OK thanks :)
I have maxed out the uncommon weapons and I'm on my way for gear but still get a lot of consumables and not many (if any) weapon mods. I don't mind much since I use consumables anyway, but I'd like to get some of those mods (SMG barrel, Shotgun Shredder) !

All I know, is its getting rather annoying to be getting Ammo IV's when I have Gear, and characters left to unlock...I haven't seen a gear mod since 5 days after it came out... Got a couple to lvl 1-3 and then nada.

Been praying for a Harrier, or the vorcha sentinel.. Or heck the ex cerb vanguard... But Ammo IV's keep popping.. An I keep using them. such is life. >.< At this rate I may never fill my manifest, and my will to try is quickly waning... Suggestions? I been buying as many Prem Specters as I can in attempts for U/R, but no joy after I maxed my Reegar. Lol.

Again, if you're looking for uncommon gear, go for Vet packs. Much cheaper so much less annoying when all you get is an unco ammo :P And you get to open at least one after each successful game (on Silver ; 3 on Gold).

I was of the opinion I would receive more bang for my credits by working my way up with upgrades so I bought Vet packs until all my gear was at the max, while doing so I received many rare items in vet packs, once in the while I would buy a SP or PSP.

Rare gear is a tough slug as is the Ultra Rare weapon upgrades, maybe at some point there will be a better store option but for now just hang in there:)

Thanks for all the advice.

I think it's still pretty lame that you get the rare consumables even if you haven't maxed out the rare characters and gear. They should be something for players who pretty much maxed out everything except for the URs...

I don't know if I'm gonna buy Vet packs or just keep buying my PSPs to get more rares.
