I double-checked, seems legit.

You had doubts about my poetic art?

Sad, but true. Bioware and EA could learn a thing or two from a company like ArenaNet.

He's probably the worst troll in the history of the internet. Just give him a helmet and some crayons and send him on his way.

Don't question art!

I hate art arguments, especially when people outside the debates try to make the same tired commentaries. I remember most detractors of the Retake movement constantly saying that the furor fans had over the endings made the belief that games are an artform invalid; clearly they don't understand the differences between an "artform" and "art".

I think people just listened to Sovereign too closely in ME1.

"What? I can still see the sun between the capitol-ships, but the thing said... wtf?"

Hint: When a piece of malfunctioning machinery delivers a religius manifesto, do´nt take it word for word. Especially if it chooses to name itself "Sovereign".

My Shepard had it right telling it off: "You´re just a machine"

yeah...I was hoping that the reapers were going to play out as villians. evil creatures, perhaps collective consciousness wrapped into squidy ships, super powerful but not quite omnipotent. Their agenda, could have even stayed a mystery for me, as long as we got to take um down!

but no...I got giant tinker toys and lego blocks with lazer beams and some rusty old AI's science fair project. ugh.

If they'd left them as unreasonable murderous machines (ME1), then no, they don't need to make logical decisions.

If they have a reason for doing things, and all their actions are made in the service of that reason (ME3), then yes, their actions have to fit that reason.

Has anyone come to the conclusion that the Reapers were only ACTING like cruel and cunning villains? Keep in mind that according to Sovereign, they are "legion", a collective consience, each Reaper a nation, just like the Legion we know and love. That means there are more than a million organics preserved inside each Reaper. If each Reaper is a collective consience, why do they all agree that the cycle must continue? I think it's because they can't disobey the solution of the Catalyst. They are bound by the Catalyst's solution, and the Catalyst had no idea his solution is flawed until he met Shepard.

This is possibly hinted in the Extended Cut DLC. Before Harbinger burns Shepard's armor to a crisp, it sounds like he says "Serve us" or "Save us". If the latter is true, it's a cry for help from the organics preserved inside Harbinger.

The Reapers might be like actors, forced to do things and say lines that the Catalyst scripted them to say and do.

Whatever Harbinger said was one of default lines that exists in game and used previously by destroyers and it's not English its in their own language

I think that´s why Im fine with the story: I never accepted AI as fully sentient on par with organics. Not Geth, not EDI, not even Reapers. When most players revelled in almost superstisius dread of the Reapers, I figured that someone eons ago botched his programming. I was expecting to find a glitch to be the cause, just like the Geth, who where also created by mistake.

In the end I was pleasently rewarded.

Why do I keep seeing people hearing "save us" by Harbinger? He looked at Shepard and said "SHEPARD".

Then he shot Shepard. It makes no sense for Harby to say anything else. Harburger just wanted to gloat before killing Shepard.

ME3 has its faults but it also has its merits. BW probably really just wanted a lot of speculation so they took a really stupid turn with the plot.

Seriously, they got rid of planetary exploration in the second game (no Firewalker DLC does not count), they revamped the whole game mechanic to be a chest-high-wall cover shooter (complete with ammo drops, don't get me started on that again), they completely contradicted all established rules when it comes to mass effect fields. And in the third game, they turned Ash into a super model and added multiplayer.

Should we really be surprised the story makes no sense? Should we even care?

At this point Mass Effect is nothing more than Modern Warfare in space. You know how MW3 turned the M upside down to get "WW3"? Well just turn the E in ME side ways to get the same thing.

Stop right there, I don't know about you, but when I see a child pointing a gun at itself (Bioware in this case) I can't just stand back and watch them "plaxidentally" shoot themselves in the leg, And I can't play any future Bioware game knowing that they will let this happen again and again, because they have no desire to change, in fact they think this has been nothing but a solid win for them.

I was arguing a while back and i get this response from many that it's their game and storyline so i said that but THEY don't want to even acknowlage that they made a BIG mistake with changing mass effect lore and story. they were going to be legendary with ME trilogy but instead they chose this.
Do you checking their tweets? They DON'T want to accept it even nearly everyone told them through these months that they screwed the story and endings. No amount of ECs can fix them.

As much as I dislike what they've done with ME3 (and DA2) and the way they've handled PR after that, I can't help but feel sorry for BW because they had a REALLY nice thing going on.

I'm sure DeathWingKingUltimat is being sarcastic ....  at least thats what I thought.
