Probably right just wondering why people complain about though when everything is optional or their own choice

Because these choices conflict with their own, and they somehow feel it makes their decisions less valid. Would certainly explain why the forums are swamped with "X is the best ending option because reasons." Basically same deal, some people just can't handle even a hint of their in game avatar having a different sexual orientation, mainly because of insecurity I'd say. But I have to stress that this is a minority, especially around this part of the internet.

Sadly, Ashley is not bisexual. Well, I wouldn't have romanced her anyway, but some would have.

When jack was talking about her past didn't she say she was with another girl and her boyfriend wouldn't that mean that jack was actually bisexual or didn't care if it was a man or a woman?

Yes, they probably used Gibbed save editor to set the romance flag.

I believe she is bisexual, but... in-universe, would be more vulnerable to emotional pain from a woman than a man, and hence didn't make herself available to Femshep. Who can't flirt with her anyway. This looked bad in ME2 when it seemed her wounds could only be cured via magic penis, but the fact that she's fine in ME3 regardless makes it a bit less unfortunate.

Kaidan was never made explicitly not attracted to men.

Also, some homophobia, or at least heterocentrism, is arising in the "which romances do you wish were reality?" thread.

You could say the same about Garrus, Joker, Wrex, Zaed, Jacob and Thane but they weren't suddenly made bi in me3....

Oh it's just that you make it sound like he was made to be bi from the beginning just because he didn't plain out announce "I am straight", or did I misunderstand you?

In-universe, what he was planned to be is irrelevant. As a person, he was always bisexual, he just didn't initially show it.

Lack of  Bi-Wrex was the biggest disappointment in ME3.

This is a really long discussion so I am going to keep it short but since you couldn't romance him as a male shep in me1 and me2 one must assume he was straight and there for as you say it is irrelevant what was planned ahead.

If this has taught us anything, it's that you can't assume what wasn't talked about.
