With the EC out I'm finally turning my attention away from multiplayer and back to single-player and those 12 ME2 import saves that have been gathering digital dust.
I'm working on my playthrough where I screw everything up as much as possible, but was worried that since I've promoted 30 multiplayer classes, I've got a spare 2250 war points that would pretty much rule out any shot of a bad ending.
Whatever. Playing through anyway.
Finished the Citadel coup and finally looked at my war readiness computer again and the special forces points are gone and I'm on pace for a bad ending. Yay.
They were there in the beginning, but they vanished by about the halfway point of the game. I don't care that the points vanished. That actually helps me on this playthrough. I'm just curious as to why the points vanished.
Do they go away if a certain number of N7 missions are open but incomplete?
Was there someone I forgot to talk to?
Do they go away If I skip Grissom Academy?
Do they go away if the Tuchanka bomb goes off?
Where did my N7 special forces points go?

Go to the war room, click the war asset, then it will update your points.

Well i have had the same problems on the Xbox 360 as well all i did to fix it was to save the game and exit out then go back and open the save file. But that only fixed it a few times because it keep doing it at random times during the course of the game

I have this issue on PC as well. I think its just glitchy

Not the asset itself, click the war assets button in the bottom right. It might be called something different, but if you bring up the actual galaxy map, where it shows the readiness of each sector, it should update and show your promoted characters.

They don't show up until after Menae to start with, but they can occasionally vanish if it doesn't pull the info from the server correctly. Double check your MP to make sure it didn't do a total wipe of your MP progress, and if not, you should be able to reload the SP save and check it again and it should be there.

I have had this problem on PC. The points were there when I played in the morning, then when I played in the afternoon they had all vanished.
I quit the game, reloaded, and they were back again. I think there must have been a problem when the game polled the server.
This has also happened when checking for DLC content- I've had times where DLC was disabled for no reason, and reloading fixed it.

Well crap.
I was at ~1450 EMS, and about to start the Cerberus base mission and the points came back.
Looks like I'll have to use a savegame editor to get the bad ending now.

This problem occurred to me when i died several times during the fight in grissom academy where i simply chose "resume game" to continue. Once back in the Normandy, I realized that my assets were gone. Now, I did another mission and when I died again (because my game is set on insanity) instead of choosing "resume" I picked "load game" instead. That fixed it, I suppose. From then on, I would only choose to load instead of resume when I died. Hope that helps.
