Noobs on silver make this game not fun

With that said, I definitely understand the OP's frustration. It really does annoy me when I enter a lobby and see three people with low levels and terrible loadouts, and it's worse when a lobby full of people that look like they know what they're doing turn out to be a giant fail parade.
One solution is to practice a little bit of Zen and let go of your attachment to the game--I've had only middling success with this approach. The more consistent answer has been to plug in my mike and be pleasant, which often gets other people to start talking, too. That leads to coordination and the exchange of information, which usually makes the second match with a PUG much more bearable than the first.

there really should be a level minimum for playing silver and gold, say 120 for silver 200 for gold. im not very good but i realized it and played bronze to 150 or so and getting my equipment leveled up. alot more time in silver before playing gold and not being a burden to my team. im really starting to think these people just hope to be carried to the extra money. it cant be by accident they think they are ready for silver.
oh - AND USE YOUR DAMN MISSILES ON WAVE 10 DAMMIT!!!

I die more often in bronze than in silver matches. People on bronze are worse.
Thats ok. people on bronze are supposed to suck. Its the entry level difficulty. thats where poepl can learn to become good players and move up to silver.

Yes it is frustrating when they do not play as a team, but they can be encouraged to do so. I do not mean speaking on the mic, which can sometimes be ignored. I prefer to oblige them to team play or lose. Examples;
1 Ignoring a download. Do your part then leave it. They will either go to the hack or lose on time.
2 Not protecting you whilst you are carrying a package. Go as far as you can, then when you are being swarmed or have already been knocked down, revive and leave the package where it fell. They can choose to ignore it and lose on time or are obliged to get it themselves.
3 Ignoring activating devices. Do two then ignore them. If they continue to ignore them they lose.
I think it better to do this than quit the game.

Gold works with 3 good players btw.

Probably the best advice so far. That's what I do as well ; often I'll ask if someone has a mic on early in the game and build on that when possible. Also, a simple "thank you" when being revived or "I'm coming" when going to revive someone can help.rmccowen wrote...

Taking ME for what it actually is (i.e. a game) and relaxing will make you less frustrated about failures. If you need to play seriously, then play with other serious people by joining a group and adding people to your Friends list. But blaming it on newbs or bad players will never take you anywhere.

Without ever communicating on voice chat, we stuck together. I reaved, he warped (stasis when it made sense), everything went boom. It was beautiful.
Later silver mission, Firebase Giant. Wave 10 delivery, I was closest to the pizza by far so I grabbed despite playing geth engineer (not exactly a durable class). Banshees and brutes blocking my way. The rest of the team does a brilliant job drawing aggro and clearing the path without anyone having to use missiles.
Yeah, sometimes you get a team of idiots. Sometimes I'm having a bad day and others undoubtedly think I'm an idiot. But sometimes things come together, and it's "totally worth it".

The OP's logic holds up just fine: someone is frustrated because he or she has to clutch multiple times in Silver matches, and would enjoy the game more if the quality of squadmates were more consistent.theSatirist wrote...
so the op complains about bad players playing silver, although they can't solo it, because he can't solo silver himself and gets wiped when teamed up with noobs.

Your response, however, doesn't hold up at all. The major flaw is that you cast anyone who can't solo Silver as a bad player. In fact, you imply that there are only two kinds of players, who are distinguished solely by whether or not they can carry a group and/or solo; further, you seem to believe that only "good" players are allowed to get upset.

I had the same experience yesterday, playing my AJA with a Novaguard.... for a little while. First match was on Ghost, and we were working together great - he was detonating my Reaves with Charges and Novas and everything was dying quickly. One of the least challenging Silver matches ever. Next match was on Jade (bigger map) and it all fell apart. Apparently, Mr. Novaguard thought he was carrying the whole team, so he just jetted across the map. By the time I could run into position to start Reaving targets, he was already down. This happened for about 5 straight waves until he got insta-killed by a Phantom, and then I just gave up on trying to establish teamwork. It was fun for a while I guess.Dilandau3000 wrote...
I load up a silver mission with my asari adept. I see there is another one in the lobby, so I switch to the justicar adept.

I doubt I could solo Silver, never tried Bronze, but Ill beat most people on Gold any day. I can solo a wave if I need to. I find Silver is enough to just kick back, nonchantly walk around, and have fun doing it. Gold I find tedious more than anything else. When my buddies want me to play, its more about getting credits than anything else. They know they can rely on me to extract. So thats all the encouragement I require. Soloing is not the end all, be all of being the best. Being the best at a co-op game, is being a team mate.I suck at soloing because, quite frankly, I dont want to take an hour or more, or whatever, to do it. Id be bored by the 3rd wave and quit. I also have arthritis in my hands and cant play alot of Gold (duck, cover) because it hurts like hell. Silver is where its at!!
Anyone from here who has asked me to play from here, or ran into me on Live, Ive played with.

I can understand not wanting to "solo" when it's supposed to be a team match, though. I mean, I play this for the co-op feature. If I wanted to kill everything and do all the objectives myself, then I'd lock myself in a room without anyone else.

Provided you're not a giant toolbag about it("You're bad and won't ever be better, but try X, Y, and Z and you'll suck less!") or calling them out publicly, they will usually listen and improve.
Nothing makes me more satisfied than seeing someone take my advice to heart and go from the bottom of the scoreboard to the second slot.
