Just remember that the noob is there to enable you to get revive medals!!!!

This. Silver is great for this. Although I do find the odd Silver PUG where they should be playing Gold. When I suggest it though I usually get mass exodus.

In the Noob defense i have to add:

How one is suppose to know when is ready to rank up? when i play Bronze i am always ahead, never get killed, protect others, etc. etc.

But on Silver is different i have to run around reviving companions, others lag behind, go separate, and more or less i am always in the bottom of the scoring.

Once more i ask, When is "you are Ready to rank"? Bronze is boring, but Silver is hard sometimes, or maybe is the team?

ps: Sorry to respond a Necroed-tread but it interest me for knowledge purpose.

It can be tough to really tell. I've noticed that sometimes silver can be so easy I have to double check to see if the host set for Bronze and I didn't know it. Then other times Silver can feel as hard as Gold and the team gets overwhelmed. I play on Gold alot at this point but Silver can still be tough at times.

If you are crushing Bronze then it's time to move up to Silver. It takes a little bit to get used to it so you won't exactly be on the top of the score board at first but don't give up. Stay together if you can in a group or atleast near another player and support each other and you will be fine.

An idea worth considering though I wouldn't place the number of matches that high.

However what about when new players are on Bronze to begin with and are voted out before the match?

As stated I deffinitly agree that players shouldn't try to push above their level before they are ready (common sense should be as effective as placing actual in game filters on finding matches) but when you have new players who are staying in Bronze due to lack of experience and they get voted out by some N7lvl 4,000 players.... There you have a whole other issue. It's the high time people booting low timers in games that you know your gonna be paired with low time folks that I'm more concerned with.

Well, everyone agrees that kicking on bronze, if not for reasons like griefing is asinine. Not like they can go play tin difficulty or something...

And the way I see it to progress, you should generally be first or at least close on lower difficulties. You should also be generally doing well, i.e. not dying all the time. Consumable use should also be near zero. Then you are probably ready to progress. Sticking together is also important. Try avoiding sticking with infiltrators though. They'll just gtfo with cloak when you are in trouble and leave you all alone...

I noticed alot of people fail at using any consumables on silver. While on bronze everyone is Rambo with rockets.....

rockets on bronze... source of great amusement to me.....they are yours to do with as you please tho

Sometime, promote a class and take a level 1 character using just an Avenger X without any weapon mods or gear. It's actually pretty difficult to take out an Atlas.

Basically, don't play above bronze unless you are prepared to solo. You should not have any expectation that your team will survive, because most of the time, they won't.

Always expect this. I've seen teams wiped on even Bronze games because someone thought it was a good idea to ****** off a Banshee and two Brutes then run back towards the team when they realized it was too much to take on... or even when a Nemesis goes on an OHK rampage and noone uses a missile to put her down,

Every now and then, you find a team that works well together. And you think that's what's going to happen when you queue up. But it isn't. More than likely, you'll spend what little leisure time you have in your life feeling frustrated and aggravated.

Don't judge a team based on N7 levels and their equipment. Look at their loadout including the character they are using. Does what they have make sense? Are they using a Biotic character with Disrupter rounds (stuff like this wreaks of pro-noob). Change your character to someone that compliments the strongest character. If they are using a Techie with Flamer, then pick one using Cyro with Tech detonation (and so forth).

I'm going to do one of two things going forward; I haven't decided yet. Either I will uninstall so that I won't be tempted, or I will start kicking a lot more and stop leaving lobbies when my kick votes fail. Force people to choose between the jerk and the noob with the Incisor I.

Noobies playing out of their league are cannonfodder. Use this accordingly. If they want to be Rambo and go after the bosses, then kill the pawns. If they want to play safe and kill the pawns, then focus on the bosses. Either way you end up with a filtered board once they aren't messing up spawn points. If they go down more than twice in a Wave then let them stay down. Multi-ressurection=team deaths. You should be at this point be able to judge at the lobby if a team will fail/pass extraction. Leave the lobby if you don't feel comfortable. The only other thing I might add is if you playing Silver and can't seem to make it to extraction with/without their interference than perhaps you aren't too ready for Silver yourself. You may want to bulk up your equipment/manifest abit more.

EDIT: Using missiles on Bronze is just so... uggh. People should placed on a one week ban just for doing it.

Here's the deal :-

We were all noobs once..If there is someone who just stepped up to a new difficulty, my advice is be cautious (kite) & be a more oriented team player (call out specific enemies for warning, revive, do objectives)

I am getting a bit tired of people whining about others on these forums. People should play where ever they want on public servers. If you want to get picky host a private match or invite your friends.

If you are so good then play your game, help them out, or ignore them. If your team is so bad the match won't last 10 minutes and then you can change lobbies.

Get off your high horse. They paid the same thing you did to play the game.

This....i just play the game. if i come across a bad group, i'll just try to carry the team the best i can. We were all new to this thing at one time...i play mostly silver, but just recently i have cleared gold multiple times with capable teammates. I don't really prefer gold, but if somebody swutched to gold while i was in silver, i wouldn't mind because i can hold my own, that only comes with practice and trying out different builds.

Now if guys are constantly wiping out, i'm not going to waste my time traveling across the map to save them....especially if we're in the middle of a hacking mission or orb mission. For the most part i've found that these guys are trying their best to survive and rarely have i seen any jerks that are just playing incredibly stupid and are being detrimental to ther players.

No

Players should always be encouraged to play Silver whenever they think they are ready for it.
It`s better than jumping directly to Gold anytime.

however when a new player is "kicked" from a Bronze run because they are a low N7 number before the round even starts is nasty and mean.

Was playing with my sister not long ago and she had an N7 lvl of 4. I was at 400. Some random person joins in when I set for public and actually had the nerve to try and kick her out for having a low N7. That was un-called for.

true.  Nobody should be kicked out of bronze, unless they take forever to get ready.
Just kick that moron then.

Idaknow, I kinda enjoy rezzing them. I mean, it's only silver after all. I'm not burning any equipment.

It's a minigame for me to see if I can rez them out of whatever situation they've stumbled into. :)

If you can't solo a silver you're not allowed to act like an *sshole.

Get friends with this game and private match. I play gold regularly but my friends all play silver. Occasionally we play golds and we usually extract. So if your problem is team synergy, play private matches. More synergy=more fun +easier

Carrying silver is not a difficult task to accomplish...

Who is the noob in question here?

Also there is nothing wrong with noobs. We were all one once. I don't know why this is hard to grasp for so many cave dwelling neanderthals.

It's still relevant. If people didn't think so then It wouldn't be getting replies would it?

2 and a half pages of responses in a 24 hour period is not a dead topic by most forums standards.

Huh?  people are getting booted off BRONZE matches?!?!  To me BRONZE is "anything goes".  Maybe it was just a group that was trying to get their 4rth meber in the party?

If people are booting players out of BRONZE for any other reason they just need to move on.

Since I have only been playing MP for about a month now, I can't really say much about new players playing in silver or gold matches. However, I can share my own experiences.

I have been booted from bronze matches.

I'm not the best player, of course. I die, but the times I die has grown less and less. I play silver all the time with friends, and I have completed gold runs with them as well. I have even done gold with just myself and one other person several times with no problems. Yet when I play alone it has gotten to the point that I can't even bring myself to play on silver because I am wary of getting booted because I suck (I have gone in or began my own room on silver and I've had people come in and stay for hours that were really awesome and helpful, and I've had jerks come in too, so silver DOES have a nice group out there).

When I first began to play MP I'd be on bronze with a friend. I had people try and boot me which of course hurts one's pride, but thankfully they just left the room when no one else attempted to. It was expected; I had a low N7 and I really sucked. But more recently I have run into a good handful of jerks who feel the need to chase off people who die more than a few times (silver) or have a low N7 (silver and bronze).

Just last week I was kicked from a bronze room. I was confused; I was on the bottom points-wise and I hadn't died at all. But we get back to the lobby and one X, then two...then...boot.

I was kicked two days ago even before the mission started in bronze. Maybe they were waiting for someone, but they could have set it for private and invited them that way. =\\

The thing is that new players may not be the best, but at the same time you don't know that until you give them a chance. You don't know what kind of player they will become either. Maybe in a few months they will be doing solo platinum runs or be the best person to ask on making good builds.

It has been said over and over; everyone was new to the game at one point or another. So why be a jerk to people just starting out?
