synthetics wiping out organic life doesnt make ANY sense at all...

there's no evidence given that they'd ever do something like wiping out all organic life... however, there's plenty of evidence that organic life will do that by itself, or at least stop evolution straight away, leading it into a dead end street by having one species dominating all others. the rachni threatened to overtake the galaxy. everyone is scared of the krogans because they have the power to do so. the prometheans, as we learn, dominated their time and we would probably never have emerged, if not for...

the reapers. developed millenia ago, by someone who saw not an eternal struggle, but the very opposite (which is far worse). no diversity, no evolution, no progress - as if the bush family reigned for aeons...
developed to cut the dominating civilisations, like a gardener cuts a big tree that steals the light from emerging plants...

it would have made sense (speaking of canon) and would have had a message. be tolerant to new things. don't supress what's new. let other races/species/cultures breath...

the Crucible in my book is not a weapon, but a test. let's just say eons ago another species, from another galaxy, developed intergalactic travel. what they found were galaxies very much like ours, at the height of the promethean empire: one species/culture ruling all. no diversity, no progress of life. so they decide to build the reapers as intergalactic gardeners, to cut the big trees (species) - so others may life. but as a failsafe - to not have their machines wipe out a galaxy that celebrates diversity (unlike all the others) - they also planted hints to the CRUCIBLE, which is not a weapon, but a test: a device/plan that can only be completed if a whole galaxy works together = different species' efforts combined, merged in the melting pot CRUCIBLE: hence the name. so if a galaxy completes it and connects it to the Citadel: good job pals, keep up the good work, armageddon is postponed.

i don't care about spacechild or blue babies, but the lack of a deeper meaning is what still disturbs me. the experience was so deep, the ending/solution so shallow... i feel dirty and abused. had i known how this ends, i'd never have gotten into bed with ME.
