I see some people stating that DA:O is doing bad sales wise on console.

After checking statistics I think it's pretty safe to say DA:O is a great success sales wise on console (that is if I'm reading the charts correctly). Dragon Age has sold more than 1 million units the first 5 weeks!

It's not fair to compare DA:O sales to Assassins Creed 2, MW2, GTA IV etc, because those games are targeted at a much wider audience. However if you compare DA:O sales for the first 5 weeks with other console RPG's (for their first 5 weeks) you'll see that it surpasses games like Borderlands and Oblivion and is (basiscally) as successful as Mass Effect. It doesn't outsell Borderlands by much but it's somewhere around 100k. However it outsells Oblivion with more than 1/3.

Of course this is just the initial 5 weeks, we won't know how the sales will continue.

The only CRPG's I found that outsold DA:O at 5 weeks of sales are Fallout 3 and Fable II (underlined).
But we can take note that Fable II was Xbox only while I think there's a lot of Xbox 360 owners who bought DA:O for PC, since it was the best of the three versions. So if DA:O would've been console only, it might've outsold Fable II as well.
This being said I don't think we have to worry about the future of the DA universe.
