You mention one game mode being boring, but what MP game is out there that is any different, All games follow pretty much one formula.

COD, Diablo 3, TF2. PVP makes shooters interesting and they have different modes.

PVP is still doing the same thing over and over and different game modes is just an illusion of doing something different.

Please use the search function before posting new topics!

There were plenty of "End of multiplayer?" threads 3 weeks ago. Also 6 weeks ago.

Also, at launch, and before the game released.

I think the operation was pushed back this to this week so they can announce the next DLC... I mean, it's going to be playable at comic con... today. thursday. It shouldn't be long until a video or details hit the internet. If it's on Xbox or PS3, they've got it certified (I don't think you're allowed to let the public use developer devices) which means both the next patch (I think) and the DLC is already finished and ready to release.

They can lock devices fairly easily and since the Devs will be hanging around to ensure no funny buisness they could use dev devices to show all new aspects of the game without people unlocking it the way the public has to.

I do agree with the fact that odds are it's probably mostly finished by now if they'll letting people play it at Comic-con. You don't let people play "works in progress" because of that fact. I don't post halfwritten posts or I'd look like a retard if I did. Now they just need to release it.

"Quality Assurance Booth"
"Please attempt to break this game"

.. though unless it's dev devices, it's kind of pointless at this point :P

AvP (2010) came out almost two and a half years ago and its multiplayer is still very active. It's PvP, though, and has a lot more game modes, but for something much less popular than Mass Effect, it's still going strong.

ME3 MP won't die for a long, long time.

Diablo 3 isn't PvP(yet), it isn't a shooter, and it doesn't really have multiple game modes =P

Though ME3 MP was never going to be as fleshed out as something that has had 80-100% of it's resources dumped into the multiplayer of the game.

ME4(Because you all know it's happening) will probably have a more fleshed out MP experience because of how much of a success this one was. They weren't going to throw a ton of resources at an unknown like that when the series was known for it's singleplayer campaign. It would have been a very strange and very risky move to do to your primary IP.

this.  the MP portion of ME3 was, in effect, a proof of concept. now that shepard's story is complete, i do expect they will continue the franchise with MP games set in the ME universe.

I still love the game. Maybe it's because I play PUGs all the time. Although it can be frustrating at times, it also gives the greatest variety. Different players call for different playstyles, strategies, and characters to use. I play pretty much any character to synergize with the current lobby I'm in at the moment.

I could see how it might get repetative / boring even faster if farming, maybe doing speed runs, or playing with the same people and using the same characters over and over.

Or maybe I'm just low maintenance.

As long as the servers are running, there will always be a few hundred people actively on.

At comic con, I am not sure if the game will be on public servers or private matches with each other. I don't know if public matches would work.
It'd be hilarious if it was for PC and origin didn't work.

That's not necessarily true. I've been seeing a lot of level 5 - 70 N7 ratings lately. There seem to be a lot of new players on Xbox. They are in practically every silver and bronze match I play. We usually wipe by wave 8 or 9 on silver now.

Extended Cut? if so most of them will leave when they hit 100% galactic readiness. Or maybe things are brighter on Xbox.

Maybe, but there has also been a crap load of human vanguards lately too. I'm trying to save up credits for the DLC because I will be away next week, and every freaking match contains at least one low level vanguard.

This,

The past week I've been playing with new players and seeing mistakes I haven't seen a while. Which means they are happening enough for notice.

There are a bunch of Die Hard ME fans out there (me included) which will keep this game going in MP. However, the casuals will of course come and go.

I too have noticed an large influx of new players... alot of rocket glitchers too. (XBOX)

I perfer PVP, but right now I'm sad with the FPS world.... hoping Black Ops 2 is good, but not holding my breath. Anything can be better than the atrocity that is MW3.

DLC needs to happen fast... I keep struggling to find reasons to play. If it wasn't for the people I play with... I'd of been done awhile ago.

Things still seem okay on the PC front. I find plenty of silver matches pretty quickly. I don't do golds often so I can't speak for those. Honestly, I still have a lot of fun with the MP and I've been playing regularly since the demo.

I don't see it dying any time soon. However, it could really use another game mode or at least a harder difficulty.

People unlocked platinum difficulty even in the demo. Yet Bioware are not in a hurry to implement it.

I quit playing not a long ago. My friend list is almost dead, only 1-2 are online. One game mode is really really boring, and that isn't going to change. DLC injections of new classes and weapons are good for two-three weeks. Last but not least - random store.
Also I noticed that playerbase shrinked considerably, I began to encounter same players more and more, or get thrown into the ongoin game. It's only my impressions on PC though. You can add that forum activity slowed down considerably, which is not a good sign, because it consists of die-hard fans of the game. So what do you think about it?
