Well you see, people like to be in groups a lot and know that they share a common interest with other individuals. These individuals have a tendency to create something of their own social norms and expressions that are meant more for the group than for outside observers. They also enjoy the ability to express views in an environment where hostile or negative reaction is minimized, hence creating gatherings and websites dedicated to the one subject.

It's all quite simply human nature, bronies enjoy things they still find socially questionable, less so now but still questionable. As such they feel the need to form strong bonds with their fellow members to justify the thoughts and feelings they have.

Really it's no different than any other fan group in existence, only slightly nicer but that's really all the difference there is.

I just watched parts of one episode on YouTube and it sucked harder than Anders from DA2 does IMO. The plot wasn't anything amazing IMO and then they broke out in song at one part which was even more annoying than the dialogue. I don't see the attraction around the show and I find it hard to believe that adults actually watch the show.

I mean anyone can see that it's for young girls. I'm amazed why other children's cartoons haven't gained the same fame but I guess it's all due to 4chan making a meme out of it.

Death to Ponies and Bronies.

I can understand why The Simpsons and Futurama have such fan followings from children, teens and adults alike and that's because it's aimed at all age groups. But My Little Pony? Seriously? What the Hell...

I also saw this show way before 4chan did, by the way.

Also what makes a cartoon "well-made"? The hard work put into it? The heart put into it? The writing? The voice acting? The style? The animation? The jokes? The not talking down to kids parts? The friendship themes? The characters? There are a lot of things you have to take in considering when you go over what makes a "well-made" cartoon or anything for that matter.;)

Are we talking about why the fans gather so much and end up concentrated or why people like the show at all?

Because I answered for why they gather together in the first place in my first post.

Anyway, by all means make the anti-pony group, if being opposed to the show and it's fans is what you feel is great, than glad you found a passion I suppose.

You are not a Geth.
You used singular title like I?
PFFFT I'm surprised you reached a consensus on that.

Why not just ask this question in the MLP thread? We'd have answered it there.

It's a cute little cartoon made by some good animators etc. Most people stay for the community and content they make now. I guess it's the irony of men watching a show made for a demographic of girls that makes it fun to get into I dunno.

I dropped out of it after a while. The guys here on bsn are alright but too many freaks and f*ck-ups outside now. And they always **** and moan about the most asinine things. Enough is enough for me.

To be fair that hasn't happened since the whole Derpy Hooves thing, and even I thought the reaction to it is stupid. Things have been pretty good going since.

Now that is something I wonder about(not really), why is it okay for people of any age and gender to like cartoons that were made for 7 year boys, yet it's not okay to like shows for 7 year old girls?

It's a point I guess.

I think it's the adults infatuated with the cartoon ponies aspect that loses people.
It's just meme fuel for the most part. With a side of really liking the characters, that's not a problem but then you do have the creepy fans like most series have.
When people start making sex toys shaped like the millenium falcon, I'll believe you.
You want me to bring up the Doctor Who sex toys again? Because those are a real thing, and I am sure there is a Millenium Falcon sex toy somewhere on the internet.:?
Are those toys in the shape of Daniel Tennant? If they're not, then I don't think they're on the same level.
Well no, but still this is creppy.=]

And his name is David Tennant.
Nah, that's a little piece of nerdiness in a ******.

This is creepy
That's the impression I got when I think of men in their 30's watching a cartoon targeted at 6 year old girls.

Just sayin'.

MLP is hardly targetted towards little girls anymore. The creators know that bronies are their main fanbase, and they make the shows for the bronies.

As for the OP, it's just a good show. I dunno what you want me to tell you. Why do adults watch any cartoons really? Because they enjoy them. Well written, good characters, good animations... I don't understand why so many people need an explanation for this really.

They know about the bronies yes, but the show is still targetted to little girls. Always has been always will.

I disagree. From a business standpoint, would you go with the larger group making you money, or the smaller group? The bronies are obviously the bigger group. So that's who the show is directed at. They know who's paying their bills. Only a complete ****** would ignore it.
