A random BSN-er plays Mass Effect 3.

Every character in the game (other than indoctrinated villains) told him the Reapers must be destroyed.

Goes ahead and picks Synthesis. Gets "best" ending possible.

Proceeds to tell people that picking Refuse is stupid because it goes against everything they were told throughout the game.

Like I said earlier, Rannoch Reaper and the Hades cannon aren't the best examples of reaper strengths and weaknesses because they are modified to fit the gameplay section, therfore they aren't a good representation.

Well, those were the ones that Shepard did fought. You can't really find any other examples ingame.

Well you have the final fleet cutscene and codex to extrapolate info from. But I'm just trying to point out that these sections aren't neccicaraly consistent with the lore because they need it to work for a gameplay section.

Yeah I know, but again, are we going off on the codex or by what we witness? Well anyway, more speculations for everybody!

In the case of obvious contradictions, I say we adopt the following hierarchy:

Codex > Cinematics >>> Gameplay mechanics

The wiki does say it's a gun mounted on a Reaper destroyer. However it's entirely possible that the Hades Cannon requires quite a bit of power to operate, considerably weakening its kinetic barriers.

Right, and so does having to use a high amount of energy to reduce it's mass while landing planetside as stated from the Codex.
Wikis are not a valid source of information (as they will tell you in University), as anyone can edit them to support there point (as well as they are writen by fans which are often misinformed). I could just as easily go on the ME wiki and change it so it says Miranda is a trans-sexual, that does not make it true
If you want to act obtuse, and dismiss it as a reliable source, it's up to you. It's correct.

Doesn't matter how "right" it may be, it's still made by a third party, and therefore invalid when it comes to lore discussions.

I propose that we can just ask BioWare. I mean it's not like they're busy or anything now. Ask them if it's a Hades Cannon, or a Destroyer with a mounted Hades Cannon. Settle this once and for all. I don't have a Twitter so..

Funny, if they had brought a cain to Tuchanka or Rannoch, they would have killed those with no problems.

What baffles me is why they didn't mass produce them? Where are all the heavy weapons stockpiled?

Because Artistic Integrity :wizard:

Honestly, that's one of the biggest plotholes with the game. The assault in Tuchanka didn't even have to happen, you could have distract it, shot it with a Cain, and it would have died.

I'm not arguing this any further. Everyone in these forums uses this wiki as a reliable source of information, so if you want to act obtuse and ignore it's up you, anyone will tell you this is a reliable source.

I'll post this again as I was basically ignored the first time.

That fight is stupid. We should pretend that never happened. I mean it's one of the main reason Reapers should be considered a joke. It's just one human and the stupid Reaper can't even kill it. Not to mention, the reaper still tries to kill just you even though it has been shot from the sky so many times that it should know something is up there. But noooooooo, we had to make the reaper a complete joke.

Probably not lore consistent because they wanted a super cool boss fight with a Reaper. I'm fine with it though, got to talk s*** to one as I killed it.

Why are Krogan foot soldiers considered a valuable asset in destroying gigantic sentient battlecruisers between 160m to 2km in size?

More for fending off reaper infantry, the reaper husks and marauders etc are key to the reaper invasion, by fending off those enemies it allows more civilians to get to safety and prevents other forces from getting overwhelmed, The reapers lazers can only do so much, people can still hide in buildings and take cover.

honestly, i agree, destroyers should just not exist, all it's done is contradict much of their own lore, way to turn one of the first lovecraftian creatures in video game history into generic bad guy #3065. if it wasn't for the fact that they're supposed to be the old machines i would agree with the conventionists.

Maybe Hades Cannons have to devote power to reducing their mass in the same way destroyers do, in addition to firing those huge AA guns? That would likely leave very little or no power left over for kinetic barriers, which makes the Hades more vulnerable to ground assault with tactical nuke-yield weapons (like the Cain...) than a standard destroyer.

At least, that makes more sense than "herp derp let's not even try using Cains until the final battle guyz". Seriously, this is almost as bad a piece of fan-invented narrative as the "Shepard's armor doesn't have a camera" myth.

I did not say it was correct, stop putting words in my mouth, all Im saying is its only as reliable as the person who put it there, who in this case is not very reliable as it completely goes against what is said in Priority: Earth.

seriously, go back and play Priority earth, then you will no im correct, unless you are one of these people who never play, in which case go to forums for a game you actually play

I think he looks more like Ma'iq the Liar from Oblivion, maybe some hints of his Morrowind incarnation as well.
