EDI sympathizes with the geth that sided with the reapers. Legion opposed that and was willing to fight against hostile geth. Also, Legion has a soul and a real personality, unlike EDI.
"Does this unit have a soul?"

As a matter of fact, what makes anyone more trustworthy?Naerivar wrote...
And what makes you think Legion is more trustworthy? :S
I don't know how OP could trust anyone with that kind of paranoia. OP's got an awfully specific case of paranoia.
The story forces her to be trustworthy therefore we can't be sure whether she's trustworthy?Rotgutso wrote...

EDI has proved herself time and again throughout ME2 and ME3. Sir, are you a troll?
Only because the story forced her so. Legion could performed her job, and much much better. She shot at me during ME1, and she is unreliable in keeping the Normandy from being detected by reapers.
That doesn't make one bit of sense. This thread didn't get to the second page before you've already crossed into Insane Troll Logic territory. Better luck next time.

Because she chooses to help me, and does not deceive or oppose the crew of the Normandy or their allies, she shares similar goals and proves to be a likable individual and a worthwhile asset to the team. She saves Joker's life and your life at least once each in the story.
Then why does she always let the Normandy be detected in reaper controled systems?
And she can't use the reaper IFF to do something about it? Legion could've done it much better. He was able to let me get access to the reaper base in rannoch.

How the heck is that her fault? And Legion was getting a bunch of people in on foot to a completely different situation. And she can't use the reaper IFF to do something about it? Legion could've done it much better. He was able to let me get access to the reaper base in rannoch.
And if she wanted the Normandy to be caught, she'd just turn the engines off.

Oh my god. You do understand she was unshaked then and didn't have to help?AlexMBrennan wrote...
Nope, I don't trust her. EDI was built by Cerberus, so I "trust" her as long as Shepard's goals and Cerberus' align. EDI did not "prove herself" during the suicide mission - because it's exactly what she'd have done if she was working for TIM first*
In particular, EDI being in control of the Normandy is the main reason I destroyed the Collector base - because EDI could easily have killed Shepard once back on the ship, this was the only way to ensure it wouldn't fall into Cerberus' hands.
* You can trust someone when you know that they won't betray you when it would be to their advantage
If an AI has all the freedom to rewrite her programing, what stopping her from rewriting it's programing to not help you?
Add the cerberus base videos pretty much proves she is not with cerberus.

Hiding from Geth is completly different form hiding from a reaper. Geth can be hacked and messed with, Reapers can't.

That's not her. That's an unforunate by-product of the Normandy's scanners, that you choose to initiate.
To nip that in the bud, remember that she does not oppose you leaving the system when the Reapers arrive. She could hinder your escape, but chooses not to.

Legion would have done worse! EDI is specialized for cyber warfare and the reaper IFF does not make you invisible to reapers. the reaper base was not reaper tech it was geth/quarian tech so of course legion can get in, EDI could tooRotgutso wrote...

She is responsible for all the cyberwarfare, yet she allows the reapers to detect me. Of course that's her responsibility.

You can turn plenty of people down. EDI has a ton of plot armor, and her romance with Joker is almost unavoidable.

She can't hack reapers, no one can. And hiding from reapers is a very finite thing to do. Having them not attack you all the time with the signals down is a feat in itself.

A toaster computer simply doesn't deserve it. She can't return real organic emotions.
Considering that she can't even hide the ship from reapers even with stealth and a reaper IFF, she's either untrustworthy or incompetent.

Squadmates? None. Shepard likes them all, even if you don't.
And it's very easy to avoid Joker and EDI hook up. Just tell them not to do it.
