Calling me an idiot. I'm bringing up valid concerns.

No you're not.
You're picking apart gameplay features and trying to break them down logically like they're meant to foreshadow something.

Like I said before; Normandy's scanners is like a flare. One does not simply mask a flare signal.

Is EDI trustworthy? As much as any squadmate or crew member, yes.

Of course EDI COULD betray Shepard, she has free will, and there may be circumstances where she can either be bribed or threatened into turning on those she'd at least consider comrades, maybe if she genuinely believed doing so would prevent Joker being killed, or would end the Reapers.

But then the same is true of everyone. No matter how trustworthy they appear, there's always a chance they're not as loyal as they seem. Just ask Garrus...

And I'd certainly trust EDI far, FAR more than Javik.

I give up on you guys. Javik is right. Can't believe you put your life and the lives of the crew in the hands of an untrustworthy, incompetent, and inferior machine. Not to mention the creepyness of dating a human.

The amount of evidence we provide for pro-EDI trust heavily outnumbers your argument. I bet that's why you gave up.

Don't question, man. Just let autodialogue Shepard suck up to the squad. I can't believe I am starting to miss something from ME1.

There's some concerns Eva Core might have taken over when EDI gets a body, but she proves herself again at Cronos Station...

IMO she proved her loyalty when she flooded the Cerberus servers with 7 zettabytes of explicit images. :D

Just to be clear, she's not the only one I find untrustworthy. But she can do the most damage if she turns on us.

EDI would never turn. She's proven he trust many times. If anything, her romance with Joker would propel her to become more human.

We all know how the story plays out, and we know she doesn't turn on us. So she never will. Never. I don't care how many playthroughs you do and how many things you do differently, EDI doesn't change. I understand you saying well she could and I'd completely speculate with you before the game came out, but your timing is just completely off for this topic.

EDI sympathizes with the geth that sided with the reapers. Legion opposed that and was willing to fight against hostile geth. Also, Legion has a soul and a real personality, unlike EDI.

wtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtf

If you say that legion has a soul then surely another AI must have a soul?

Besdes, EDI makes jokes, where Legion doesn't. Making jokes is a sure-fire sign that EDI is a more advanced AI than Legion is.

Like when someone tells the illusive man 'She flooded the network with 7 xenobytes of....explicit images. I think she was making a joke.'

Shep looks at EDI and EDI says '....most of it was Jeff's'

I think the true question is whether you can trust starbrat.

EDI had proven herself and has remained loyal to Shepard, even when it was in her best interests to betray him.

Her so called "humor" just makes her an ****hole. Legion is far cooler, and doesn't try to be creepy and date a human.

To the OP, I'm honestly not surprised by your views, considering your sig.

As for being detected in reaper-controlled systems, do realize that simply showing up without giving yourself away is remarkable. Most non-reaper ships avoided the reapers by hiding around Jovian planets. Be appreciative of the fact that you can freely wander around the system without reaper capital ships chasing you around.

Oh god, please don't make threads for the other characters you don't trust if they are based on gameplay mechanics and nonsensical arguments too.

Javik is a prat. An awesomely entertaining prat, but a prat none the less.

I mean seriously, the guy openly states that had everything gone to plan, he'd have enslaved every race that had surrendered to his army, and wiped out the rest. The Prothians were pretty much monsters, dedicated to a nihilistic, 'survival of the fittest' taken to extremes philosophy that enslaved every living being in its empire to a draconian, totalitarian distopia.

Javik is absolutely ruthless, and wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone that stood in the way of his goals.

Admitedly that's one ofthe things I love about him as a character, and wouldn't change him for the world, but it'd be foolish for anyone to turn their back on him if their goals weren't exactly aligned, or if thei death would somehow benefit him.

EDI, when encouraged to question her life, and viewpoints, to grow beyond her basic programming and learn to be more than the sum of her knowledge, is one of the most well rounded, fully realised characters in the series. She's even willing to lay down her own life to defeat the Reapers, placing the needs of the many a over her own selfish survival.

EDI is a hero, or at least can be. Pointing to her as being a duplicitous, lesser life form out of anti synthetic bigotry, ignoring all the massive amount of evidence to the contrary, or just dismissing it as lies, is idiotic.

EDI has never betrayed or lie to me. She has proven herself over and over again that she is loyal and a friend. The question is why should I not trust her?

Her loyalty is a calculated algorythm. It is easily manipulated and constantly re-evaluated, she can even change her own settings herself at a moments notice. She feels nothing, regardless of what she claims. How can anyone trust a creature like that? Experience in my workplace has taught me one lesson well: Never ever step into the reach of a machine.

Who are you, Sarah Conner?! Just kidding! But no seriously, what workplace do you work in?

Thank you for asking, and for comparing me to an idol of mine :)
I do work in and around heavy industry, having lots to do with automated machinery. We also have a rock with the words "turn me" and "thank you" on either side of it. I turn the rock and it says thank you, but that does´nt mean it´s really greatful. I know that, in time, that rock will turn on me like *that*. But I´ll be ready for it... B)

You didn't ask who we thought was cooler, you asked whether EDI was trustworthy. When she is poking fun at shep's enemies, you know you can trust her.

And remember, Joker initiates their relationship, not her. You must not trust joker, then?
