But a holiday without a good fight isn't much fun so she traveled to Sur'Kesh to ****** off the Salarians her Krogan friends had told her about. Unfortunately, Claymi didn't found Salarians when she arrived at the resort. The place was infested with creatures Vorcha Philosophers would eloquently describe as Big Monsters.
Most Quarians would have left immediately but in Claymi's eyes they are unworthy cowardly weaklings. She had faced Thresher Maws. Those Big Monsters would find out what it means to fight a Quarian Battle Mistress!

Build and Strategy
Sentry Turrets are great distractions. I equipped mine with Shock, Cryo and the Flame Thrower. Shock will stagger weaker enemies and the occasional freezing further enhances its CC abilities. The flame thrower not only looks cool but does decent damage, has decent range, panics (unprotected) organics and can be used for tech combos. Its greatest strength, however, are not these features but the ability to distract the most dangerous enemies for a while. In the video you will see lots of Brutes and Banshees going berserk right next to one brave little turret unable to do anything against it - wonderful
Incinerate is a rather poor power. I left mine at rank 4 because 5 and 6 don't add much to its potential. Its base damage is too low to make the DoT (rank 5) and the +50% damage against armor (rank 6) worth your while. The +100% damage to frozen or chilled targets (ranks 6)only works with the former and does nothing to the latter (please fix this Bioware). In the video I am only using Incinerate to kill Swarmers (hence why I picked the AoE evo at rank 4), to trigger fire explosions, and (when there is no point to use the Turret or Cryo Blast) for some extra damage.
Cryo Blast, on the other hand, is an amazing power. I went for Radius (4), Cryo Explosion (5), and Vunerability (6). Cryo Blast has a very quick cooldown, very good radius (enemies will try to dodge it but get caught anyway (if you don't fight at long range) unlike powers such as Warp or Throw), it freezes enemies with a health bar (instantly) and staggers the rest. On top of this, all enemies receive a movement speed penalty, take 25% more damage (from all sources) and it weakens armor by 50%. Cryo Blast is one of the most versatile powers in the game, effective against everything.
I maxed out the Fitness tree for extra health and shields which is always nice especially when you play solo. The remaining points went into Quarian Defender where I took Damage and Capacity at rank 4. Weapon damage and headshots are rather redundant considering the weapon Claymi uses and you won't be doing a lot of damage with your powers anyway. To summarize, I used a 6/4/6/4/6 build for this video.
Weapons & Equipment
The FQE's powers are meant to control, distract, harass and debuff the enemy. They won't do a lot of damage so do yourself a favor and give her a powerful weapon. Claymi uses the Claymore like her Krogan friends, but there are plenty of other options. Recharge timers are not really important. Even with the Claymore she can use her turret every 2.7 s (spamming turrets is pointless anyway), burn enemies with Incinerate every 4.32 s and freeze them every 3.24 s.
I modded the Claymore with the Smart Choke so this wonderful weapon is painted black (the accuracy boost is nice too of course), and the Shredder Mod - which combined with Cryo Blast completely nullifies enemy armor's damage reduction!
Incendiary Ammo is hands down the best ammo for the FQE (against all factions) because of the DoT effect. Higher weapon damage = higher DoT so use a powerful weapon, it will increase the potential of her powers considerably b/c:
It will give you nearly non-stop opportunities to trigger Cryo and Fire explosions. You can freeze an enemy > shoot him > and when the DoT kills him = Cryo explosion. Shooting someone first and then hitting him with Cryo Blast also works (when the Incendiary Ammo DoT effect kills the target). Enemies who are under Incendiary's DoT effect and get hit by Incinerate will trigger a fire explosion (Incinerate has to kill the target or it won't work).
The DoT effect also works great with Cryo Blast's debuffing abilities. The DoT effect stacks which means you can shoot something first and then hit them with Cryo Blast. The DoT effect will benefit from the 25% damage and 50% armor reduction bonus. Cryo Blast + 2 Claymore shots is more than enough to kill Ravangers and Brutes!
The Cyclonic Modulater is a no-brainer. All other Armor Bonus equipment isn't really useful for the FQE. The Stabilization Module can be nice for other weapons though.
Since the Claymore is the main source of damage I used the the +shotgun damage as bonus gear.
Personal note:
I hope you liked the video and/or the tips I posted here. The FQE isn't among the most played classes (in my experience) but I really enjoy playing her and she can be very effective when you make the most of her abilities (and use a good weapon obviously). It took me five attempts to complete a solo Gold run with her. I'm used to play very aggressive and like to seek out the enemy, but that isn't a good idea with those nasty "embrace of stupidity" Banshees around
Claymi got hugged 3 times which ended the mission so I changed my tactics and did it the Forrest Gump way - run baby run! The fourth time she got an impossible device to disable in wave 10 and died. The fifth one was successful, yay, even though I was really tired and played on auto-pilot. Anyway, thanks for watching and reading.
Cheers!
P.S. It's a shame that MP lacks a good soundtrack. The music I added to the video is from "Two Steps from Hell" (kudos). I really like their music and frequently listen to it while playing MP. I'm not entirely sure, but I have the feeling that I'm playing better with some cool music playing in the background. Maybe that will help you too
