Do you think premium or regular spectre packs yield more ultra rare weapons? Does the higher drop rate of the PSP warrant the extra credits, or does buying more regular SP work better?

Seeing as though you get 2 golds for 99 thousand rather than 120 thousand the PSP is better.

.....rares are gold. Hence PSP. I mean...you could have easily read that yourself INGAME.

UNless you mean Ultra rares, which people are on differing opinions about. But I get more N7 guns out of PSP.

You are guaranteed 2 rare cards with a PSP, but you can buy 5 SP for the price of 2 PSP, tough trade-off

You'll be more pressed to save equipment like Medi-gel

Oh, I missread the ammount of PSP's. NVM

And, you can't buy 5 SP's for the price of 2 PSP's. At least not with credits...

Yea, if you had 200,000 credits you could have 3 SP or 2 PSP with change either way.

Given that I still get an occasional ultra-rare (last 2 were Javelin, unfortunately) I'd say PSP is a better deal...

Yes. 5 SP cost 300k.

3 PSP cost 300k (roughly).

So if you want rares go, PSP.

What? He was confused on the numbers, as somebody whos name I didnt look at posted either incorrect information or a typo. It was then quoted and corrected. But I think he missed that part.

I get a lot of luck getting UR's with PSP's but if your impatient its satisfying getting a SP every time you complete Gold.

If we assume that the community's derived ultra-rare droprates (5% for Spectre Pack, 9% for Premium Spectre Pack) are correct, then if 5 Specte Packs cost the same amount as 3 Premium Spectre Packs (300k vs 297k)...

5 * 5% = 25% (on average)
3* 9% = 27% (on average)

...Premiums give a slightly higher ultra-rare drop chance, but have less in the way of equipment, which might require you to buy the occasional Jumbo pack to compensate for that loss. If we consider a different scenario, where you could either buy 11 Spectre packs or 6 Premium packs and two Jumbo packs (660k either way)...

11 * 5% = 55% (on average)
6 * 9% = 54% (on average)

...and this will favor Spectre packs the more jumbo packs you buy, so long as you never need to buy jumbo packs should you go the Spectre pack route.

In short, if you rarely use equipment/consumables, and can adequately supply yourself with the equipment/consumable drops from Spectre Packs but not adequately supply yourself with the equipment/consumables from Premium Packs, then buying Spectre packs will, in the long run, improve your chances of getting ultra-rares. Otherwise, Premium packs are your best bet.

I'm guessing that the way it works is that each guaranteed rare has a chance of also being an ultra-rare, and although we don't know what that chance is, I think the chance is the same for each guaranteed rare, so PSPs are twice as likely to get a UR, since there are 2 chances (whatever that chance may be) to the SP's 1. That means that with PSPs, you're getting one chance for ultra rare per 49.5k, while with SPs you're getting 1 chance for a UR per 60k.

I mean, that relies on the assumption that each guaranteed rare has a fixed chance of being a UR, but that seems fairly reasonable, right?

So currently I have a million and a bit more creds(saving for new multiplayer dlc) do my guess is I'll probably get around 3 mill when it comes out, so should I go premium or regular?
