The geth signed on to destroy the Reapers.  Everyone who signs on with Shepard does so with the expectation that they may die.  Nobody signed on with Shepard to a) make himself the new Reaper overlord, or B) hug the Reapers.

If you were to seek informed consent for Synthesis, you can be damn sure the vast majority of galactic citizens would say NO THANKS BRO. PUSH THE RED BUTTON, KTHX.

The Geth did indeed sign on to defeat the Reapers. But they didn't sign on to be destroyed when there is another option - another way.

The Quarians didn't ask to hug the Geth. But I got them to do it anyway.

What is this... meta-gaming? My Shepards don't know how to do this.

Meta-gaming is gaming the game (obviously).  The Geth can't be killed by Destroy if the Quarians already took care of them.  I don't know how to get rid of EDI though.

edi's response to you destroy the geth just shows how much of a machine she is.    she didn't care that siding with the geth would kill millions of innocent children. CHILDREN. she only cared that you didn't side with a synthetic race. and thinks you are racist for it

Yeah, after that conversation I felt a lot less guilty about my plan to kill her off.

Justice aims to reform a criminal/evil character.

Vengeance aims to, well, avenge the victims.

The reapers arn't evil. They are just machines doing what theyare programed to do.
Add it would be a better form of justice to control them and not force a new state of life on every one.

that "machine" does what i say, my morals are hers damn it

and i might of went over the top but she does say that the geth should've been spared basically, even when you respond that children would've been killed if you sided with the geth. it is just like it is organic i guess you see how a childs life is worth more then say some adults. whereas the machine does not feel the same. like in i robot.

There is a reason why i have more sympathy to organic races then to machines, that though i would prefer a peace between Geth and Quarians, if i had to choose one or the other, i would choose the Quarians.  Machines don't have innocent children, and it was the Geth that wiped out many innocent quarians when they rebelled, i don't think they had to wipe out 99% of the Quarian population to earn there right of existence (i'm not against the geth defending themselves from being destroyed by the Quarians...they just went to far), probably most of the 99% wiped out wern't military, but innocent civilians, including children.

Murder is the premeditated unlawful killing of another person. Within that, you can actually kill a guilty person. That's vengeance, and if there's no other way, justice too.

Space magic.

I'm just trying to say, that if new natural organic life can be created in the Milky Way after a synthesise ending, then whats the point of that ending?  I think bioware meant for synthesise to change all natural life for good in the milky way, and there won't be anymore new natural organic life in that galaxy.

I know it doesn't make any sense in the context of biology....but that's bioware's space magic for you.

Dude, after the bunch of crap that came out of Javik's mouth, it's pretty clear that Bioware doesn't like books.

This.

With all the space magic the Asari and Protheans had one wonders how the hell they lost to the reapers.

And she's right. Why quarians are more important than the geth? because they're organics?

The only right choice in that conflict, if you don't achieve peace, is to side with the Geth, the Quarians just like to kill themselves.

That machine has he own free will and is helping you by choice. She has her own free will. Imposing control on free thinking machine wasthe cause of thi in the first place.

Added I am thinking like a machine, which is why I'm ask why your imposing your morals on her. She has free will, she is not just a tool.

Well aware. The Catalyst is the "evil" one, and even he is just an AI that was terribly programmed and has become overzealous in fulfilling it's directives.

Control isn't justice for the Reapers because you're controlling them, just as the Catalyst did. It's the same level of wrong morally.

Although I don't want to turn this thread into a Synthesis thread, everything added in Synthesis is completely optional. It HAS to work that way. Synthetic traits are all activated, by nature, so it's optional.

Yes, I went to law school too.  Outside of the justice system, common people tend to replace "unlawful" with "unjustified", and war arguably meets that definition on a mass scale.

Everyone in your cycle knew that they were going to die. All the races that joined in on the Victory Fleet and the crucible research did so not knowing what the crucible was going to do but prepared to live with the consequences if it saved them from the Reapers. They all were consenting to having the DNA rewritten. Granted, pre-spaceflight races and such had no clue what was going on and didn't consent to anything they were overruled anyway. Democracy in action.

A machine does what it programed to do if it can't change it. This is like calling someone evil for doing evil acts under a geass or mind control.

Father is a lawyer. Same principle applies.

You "murder" people in war as well.

No has the right to "order" you to kill someone.

But someone had to stop Hitler. People had to die to make that happen.

Unethical, but it saves future lives.

If you point that out, she makes the point that the Quarian admirals are also responsible for endangering their non-combatants by arming civilian ships.

well i was making a joke for the most part, i cannot find a video of it, but it is edi's response to you siding with the quarians

she doesn't take into account the innocent lives that would be lost on the quarian side, she is just pissed you didn't side with the synthetics. is how she came off for me,

I can't be expected to find a video of every last conversation permutation in the game; if you want to see it, just side with the quarians, talk to Joker and EDI following that, and choose the bottom response.
