Just give her Miranda's dainty little face mask and she can somersault through space, wiping out Reaper armies with a single toss of her chakram.

Solar Array Pumped Laser, from John Ringo's "Live Free Or Die."

Basically Archimedes' Mirror in space, only it focuses enough sunlight to flash-evaporate steel on contact. Typically used for asteroid mining. Kinetic barriers don't do jack to guard against directed energy weapons, and Reaper armor is nothing to write home about. Only downside is that an array can only protect a single star system - they'd have to be built everywhere, but they more than pay for themselves through mineral extraction and smelting.

There are no jedi or sith in Mass Effect universe, and mandalorians are very loyal and cooperative when they have the right motivation. Plus they are badass soldiers and would kick reaper's ground forces ass
