For ground forces? Definitely the Imperium from 40k.

For space I'd bring in the Galactic Empire of Star Wars fame. Why not 40k? Because those guys take longer to go from point A to point B in the galaxy. Plus it creates this epic moment:

"I'm sorry Mr. Starchild, I'm afraid your Reaper friends will find the Death Star...FULLY OPERATIONAL...MWAHAHAHA!"

brilliant, I'd like to see the super star destroyer tearing the reapers apart

But yes, the Imperium of Man aswell. Take Earth Back? How about perform exterminatus on Earth because its infested with filthy heretical machines.

You'd unleash Exterminatus on the soil of Holy Terra when there are probably a few million spare guardsmen hanging around we could use to clog up the Reaper's gubbinz?

Lol, that's the Imperial guard solution to everything.

Sir, the Orks are coming

throw  a billion IG at them so the orks have to spend some time hacking them up. I'll get on the line with the nearest Astartes to see if we can get some real backup.

"Sir Chaos is here."

Put the Cadian guard to clog the streets with flashlight fire and their own corpses, I'll get online with some grey knights and we'll deal with this right quick."

Sir, Tyranids are coming.

Put a hundred billion guard so the...ohhhh wait...that'll probably come back to bite us this time around wont it?

I'd definitely vote for Tyranids, just to see the look on Starchild's face when a Hive Fleet emerges into the system.

In any open versus discussion, the probability that the topic will become exclusively about WH40k will eventually reach 100%.

I call this God Emperor's Law.

I think its because the logistics of 40k are bull****. Their capital ships are the size of small countries and their bullets are the size of buildings. How the hell does someone compete with that?:?

I'd bring in Arthas Menethil (The Lich King) to deal with Reaper ground forces. I figure that Frostmourne would be hungry, and that it would get downright insane with all of the Scourge fighting the husks and Banshees etc.

For the spacefight I want V'Ger from Star Trek, along with the entire Galactic Empire. I want Reaper probes vs Tie Fighter action, I want Imperial Star Destroyers, Victory class Star Destroyers, Interdictor Cruisers, Frigates, the whole deal. Put all Imperial Forces under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

That and they'd probably just go "****, Reapers on the ground.. Exterminatus?"

The UNSC from Halo, at their peek. Not as Imperialistic as some of the other choices, so after they curb-stomp the Reapers they'll likely just Meander outside of Council Space.

To be fair, it's not that Flak armour is bad, it's just cannot compete with the weapons of 40k.

A single shot from a Lasgun is enough to blow a man's arm off if he isn't wearing Flak armour. And that's the weakest weapon.

The soldiers of Mass Effect are certainly treated better and equipped better (for their level of technology) than Imperial Guardsmen, but the Imperium would just steamroll through the entire Mass Effect Galaxy (including the Reapers) with absolute ease through sheer numbers and firepower. There are more Imperial Guardsmen alive in the Imperium than there are people in the Mass Effect Galaxy.

Yeah I know... Turn A is  pretty much my..." well we are dead anyway  **** it" Moonlight Butterly  = Galactic Stoneage/Reset Button.

All this going as planned  Qan(T) and the others can eaisly handle the Reapers without resorting that extreme

Hiigarian Fleet from Homeworld 2. Battlecruisers mainly. Loaded with Bombers/Interceptors. Have them Hyperspace behind the Reaper line in the final battle and watch them melt stuff. With BLUE beams.

Really liking the reply's so far, some nice variety. But yeah, 40k and SW are probably the most popular choises, but Halo ain't too far behind tbh :P

Hmm, i wonder how well the Men in Black would do against the reapers x)

Unit 01 going berserk against a Reaper would be a sight to see.
