Panicking when I'm about to get swarmed like hell : Rocket
Unlucky for me I have a bad tendency of mixing each other up when panicking...
PS : Misread the OP. So if I have none of this left, charge the closest enemy and run away if I'm a vanguard, cloak and run away if I'm an infiltrator, or use whatever ability that staggers and run away with anything else.

I run all over the place, roll around/slide for a little bit, and then I get shot in the face.
Sadly this tends to be what happens to me as well
But i tend to play with friends which requires a Private Hudson moment over the mic post shot to face.

Try and pick off the little guys.
CHAIN OVERLOAD ALL THE THINGS.
Consistently pull a Brave Sir Robin on the big enemies and spam warp and bullets until they're down.
Or I die tragically. Take your pick. LOL

There are powers which helps you greatly in running away. TC. Decoy is fine too, or even drone. Chain overload is nice too.

When you are the last one standing the whole game changes as you are the hope of the team and you can feel their stares, if possible I tell them to watch my back and tell me if something is coming, as that helps a lot.

SalarianEngineer vs Geth: SHIELD DRAIN RUN SHIELD DRAIN RUN
Turian Sentinel: Chain Neural Overload to stagger and RUN LIKE THE WINDS, curse myself for playing a class that cannot roll, kite, pick them off with headshots combined with regular neurals and occasional tech bursts
Human Sentinel: Detonate Tech Armour to stagger, RUN LIKE WINDS, rolls, kiting, BEs from a distance.
Vanilla Human Vanguard: Charge a close enemy for barrier, roll to side as soon as able to avoid post-stagger retaliation (or back then side if the target is tough in melee such as a brute/phantom), RUN LIKE THE WINDS (or charge across map if target available), kite like a mofo, pick them off with headshots or charge-faceshoot-backroll (which kills most basic enemies with one go. With Centurians, Nemises, Marauders etc they won't hit the ground because shields, so I HEAVY MELEE, then shoot to finish them off) and intermittent WIND-LIKE RUNNING (I avoid calling her "Novaguard" since I use Nova only situationally)
Drell Vanguard: Charge close enemy for barrier, flip to side, FOOT 'NADES, RUN LIKE THE WINDS (or charge across map if available). Rely on weaponry for long-range kills, charge-stomping and face-kicking anything that gets close.
In short, shield regen or distraction power, dodge roll, kite often, pick 'em off.
