The gun is not so bad (with Equipment)

With a rifle amp, EB and STC it packs quite a puch

I was recently kicked from a lobby, I asked why and the guy said my gun sucks, I know i'm better than the punk I use the Raptor for cover fire and setting up tech burst when I use the Salarian Engineer.

it makes me sad tbqfh:crying:

I've found the Raptor and the Mattock pretty close performance-wise. I don't use it myself, but I see no problem with the people who do.

Used it a lot on a SI in the demo, though.

I'm sure they hate it a lot more when I use the GPR and Avenger.

No problem if your using it on a SE regardless of N7 rank becuase I know SE gets a weight bonus for snipers, and a raptor as a lightweight sniper rifle on a SE is a completely logical class.

It's not so bad, at least from my perspective. Not my favorite, but it can get the job done.

Plus ten thousand Nemeses can't all be wrong.

If you use an Eagle I and an Incisor I on your level 1 *insert character here* you'll still be welcome in my lobbies.

Besides, the Raptor is a very good gun.

I don't care what guns people use in my lobbies, as long as they kill stuff with them!

Can say that about any gun.

No, I wouldn't kick you.. I'm usually surprised how well others can do with weapons I'm horrible with.

The Raptor is my new favorite sniper rifle.  I'm not as good of a pure sniper with it as I am with a Valiant, but I can run and gun with the Raptor when I need to, and being a pure sniper gets old fast.  It's a great gun.  Whoever kicked you is clueless.

I like it, I just don't want to sprain my hand trying to unleash it's full firing rate.

I dont. I used the weapon pretty exclusively early on when I had most of my uncommons near maxed but rares only levels 1-5 avg. Its pretty much like using a scoped Mattock.

I rarely see people using it, and most of the time when I do, they're usually holding their own, and I've never been disappointed by anyone using it (in terms of poor performance).

If you've got a fast trigger finger, and good aim, its one of the better guns in the game... most people just dont have the trigger finger for it.

I like it. Not as much as the Indra but its a good gun. As someone mentioned above, its like a mattock with a scope. A little less damage in MP than in SP but hardly noticeable.

Sounds like u ran into a douche afraid that you'd outscore him with it.

Unless it's Gold without equipment supporting it I honestly couldn't care less. I know exactly the type of horrors that await me in U/U/PUGS. I welcome such unnecessary "challenges" head on to help maintain the silky much man mane flowing majestically across my chiseled chest of imaginary wonders.

On Gold it's complete and utter trash. Only reason I would even imagine using it is for the Hellhound operation of N7 Spec Ops. It's nice to pretend like it's a good gun on silver. I'll give you that.

I carry the Raptor around as a secondary Assault Rifle. It makes for a useful and varied sidearm when weight isn't as big of a concern (on a soldier class, for example) and you are using a different type of assault rifle as your primary (such as the falcon).

That's just my opinion however, no need to go spreading that about.

Gun discussion aside, I don't care if you use a gun that isn't normally played if you still kill things, or support the team, or do whatever you're supposed to do. I used the raptor plenty before I got uber golds. I found it excellent for my turian sentinel.

in my honest opinion no guns are better than others. its all about what guns fit your playstyle better. while i will admit some guns fit the same role and perform better than others in that role
avenger<phaeston< GPR/revenant< harrier
or
raptor<indra

No I really dont care what guns you use as long as your a team player. Had a guy today who let me die on wave 10 because he had lower score than me and wanted to get higher. So right adter I bled out he got stabbed by a phantom. :)

I always take my gpr on my GE. I find it's pretty decent on gold with the geth passives.

Raptor's a good gun. So's the GPR. Those who say otherwise are doing it wrong.

Wrong.

That was my first time using the Raptor, and it was one of the best games I've ever played.  I'd hardly call it trash.

Raptors a good gun the problem is everyone trys to use it as a sniper instead of a battle rifle which is what it really is. Don't believe me? Read the descripton. Sounds like a battle rifle aplication to me. Can anybody say scifi FNL?

just want to point, 1 game proves nothing, now 9/10 games you being top on kinda pointless score does prove its good weapon at getting the killing blow on targets.

Well, that was gratifying. I just started playing gold recently, and went into a public game with a level 6 raptor on a salarian infiltrator (piercing and damage mods, level 1 sniper amp, level 5 sniper gear, and level 3 cryo rounds, I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel for gear since I'm saving credits for the DLC.) Everyone in the game had an N7 of around 1 or 2 thousand, so experienced players, and one of the guys refused to ready up and told me to change my gun. I'm not mic'd so I couldn't argue, so I just waited, and he readied up without any more arguments.

By the end of the first round my score was about double that of the person in second place. At the end of the game I was still in the lead (barely, but it was one of the easier gold extractions I've had, they were all well above average players.) The host quit after that round but one of the players carried over to the next couple of games, most of the people that joined were lower ranks. I topped the next few games as well.

The gun's light enough that you can use tactical cloak about once per clip, and it reloads almost instantly, much faster than the Indra. I'm guessing it has higher damage per second than most other sniper rifles, not as high as the better assault rifles, but you can land headshots continuously and your damage doesn't decrease with distance.
