I can understand disbelief. But having people actually rage over you trying to give them some friendly advice constantly baffles me.

Some people just don't like to be told they're wrong. I don't mind myself, and if someone offers to help me out, I'm happy for it, but different people and all that.

The only way i could see someone getting mad at anyone for giving a bit of advice is when, after they tell you once, if you don't listen they keep bringing it up. It really doesn't take long at all for people to stop coming off as friendly and start being just aggravating.

Not saying you do that mind you. But I have seen some people who just won't stop even when it's obvious that the person really doesn't care. It could be that they get that sort of thing a lot in matches, and even if you just bring it up once in a lobby, it kinda triggers a "great, here we go again" thing for them and they jump down your throat.

The funny thing is I'm seeing it on people with N7 of like 2k+, you'd think people who were that serious about the game would learn a little about it.

Not to mention you definitely don't need a biotic teammate to detonate biotic explosions constantly when using the Justicar.

I mean, you don't NEED it, but it certainly works better.

Apologies, but yeah I'm one of those who has played a lot but has not gotten in depth about some of the powers. I'm a "shoot anything that moves" type so when I rarely get a biotic explosion kill I still don't know what I did! Image IPB

Please expalin how I can help you Justicars!

I'm willing to learn.

Really Image IPB you don't get cooperation from the general public, oh, noesImage IPB

Seriously though many people don't like basically being told how to play.  You being right has nothing to do with it, sometimes to just have to let people make mistakes.

Yep ppl who dont get team combo BE and TB baffle me.

SE who act like snipers all game while you beg them to ED the targets you overload.

Phoenix Adapts who dont realise reaved targets go boom when smashed.

Generally anyone who was behind you a second ago while you cover fired them and suddenly has run off and died to a trooper.

Someone they don't know is telling them something that by all appearances is working isn't. What do you expect? Forumers only account for a small percentage of the multiplayer community.

^ This for the ULM

As to the lack of a setup power.......I guess all i can say is they don't know how to play their class

Kilgh basically
tech bursts damaging aoe explosions caused when a mob which has been hit by overload, energy drain or another damaging tech based power is hit by a second different tech power shortly afterwards. They do big bonus aoe damage to hurt large packs.

Same can be done with combos of biotic abilities to trigger a aoe biotic explosion.

Simply put if you see some in lobby on engineer with overload and follow them round all game tagging mobs they attack with energy drain. Pow lots of aoe boom damage

Is alot of much better written topics on this search forum if interested. :-D

Does anyone have a good "official" source on the ULM bug (post from a Bioware employee, preferably from after the 1.03 patch)? If so you could create a custom short URL for that source and tell people to check it.

Click on my sig. It'll take you to where BW QC states they've nailed it down and are still working on it.

As I've stated before, I use ULM on my Hurricane so it is black because a black SMG and Claymore look hot on my hot pink Krogan.

So someone doesn't play the game the way you expect them to, big deal. Either move on or suffer in silence, no one wants to know how much smarter than a random you are.

I'll increase the words a bit.  If you see an enemy glowing blue and you know it was not from your warp, then hit it with warp or throw and enjoy the boom.  Likewise if you are a Justicar and you see something glowing blue from someone else's warp, hit it with Reave.

That is usually a safe rule of thumb but some people will refuse to detonate as they don't want to help the person who initiated the first effect.  People are selfish....yes they are.

Well, here you go then. If someone in a lobby doesn't believe you, direct them to http://tinyurl.com/me3ulm

I'm going to assume you are not joking. ULM is short for the SMG Ultralight Materials weapon mod.

Image IPB

Which even though it looks like its working in the weapons screen and powers screen has been proven not too work with any SMG except the geth one still. As above poster posted

How is pointing out a glitch  "playing the game for other people". If we were telling people not to use it because we think it sucks, you'd have a point. But we're telling people they shouldn't use it because it doesn't work at all, and they're likely not aware of that fact.

here is some more detailed info on what powers can setup and detonate biotic explosions:
masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Power_Combos

The basic idea is that 1 person uses a setup power another uses the detonation power ASAP. This is much faster than the same person doing warp+throw because that person would have to wait the cooldown of the 1st power during which time the primed enemy can move or die. Some setup powers add visual effects such as the blue glow added by warp which makes it easier for team mates to see the primed target that should be hit by a detonation power.

On the biotic explosion thing.

I once had a match with a Cerberus Adept. I was playing my Asari Adept. I kept detonating his biotic set-ups.

In between every wave he was lashing me and shooting me constantly. I know he thought I was stealing his kills. He didn't have a mic, no one else did either, so I didn't bother to plug mine in. It was a bronze game.

So I just ignored him and kept helping him. Sure enough at the end of the match he had high score by a pretty good margin. I suddenly had a new best friend. In all the rest of the matches we played he stuck to me like glue. :D

Also, why when I offer to detonate exposions for people this guaranteeing them a godlike score do they refuse to spam their setup power.

I've had this happen too.  Of course, the guy (drell adept using reave) was also trying to detonate armored targets with pull... :?
