I don't get why everybody (people in this thread, and others) are upset that they'll probably be humans. I'm happy as long as they look cool and have unique powers.

This.

If the Paladin is a sentinel with an Omnishield and an Omniexcalibur, hell yeah, I want.

But I hope we will getting more aliens in the future as well.

Or maybe it'll be similar to the Paladins in D&D, and will be more like a fighter-healer hybrid? So it could have Tech Armor as well as something to restore shields for itself and for teammates?

N7 != Cerberus.
N7 = Alliance.

I'm getting the impression that you don't know what "defect" means as a verb... Here you go.

Cerberus defectors aren't with Cerberus anymore. The Phoenix guys were described as being highly trained and specialized troops, which sounds quite a lot like the results of the Alliance's N7 program. What are the chances that Cerberus defectors were accepted into N7 after being proven loyal to the Alliance? What are the chances that the existing defectors (the Phoenix) held enough data about Cerberus's other troops that the Alliance was able to recreate their gear?

I'm getting the impression that you don't understand how Cerberus worked.

Cerberus actually owned the companies which produced the gear for them. The Phoenix Defectors would not have any information about things like that. They didn't manufacture their own gear.

Earth is one of the most devastated home planets from the Reaper attacks, but the Alliance did not have the majority of their forces present guarding the home world like the Asari or Turians did.
Humanity as well is the only race which actually pulled back from their home world to conserve their forces and regroup for a counterstrike. It's not until far later in the game that you see the Turians follow the human lead--and then only at Garrus' insistence that the Crucible is far more important than bloodying the Reapers' noses.

Again though, what about the Krogan or Geth, who can become even more numerous than humans depending on choice. What about Sur'kesh, which largely remained intact (least from what we've seen)? Wouldn't that mean the Salarians still have the majority of their forces left? Humans are a major force yes, but they're not the only one. Having 14 humans and around 2 of each other species just makes it seem like they're only there for minor support.

ntrisley wrote...
What exotic species though? There's not going to be more species added, in all likelihood. We're not going to see Yog Soldiers or any of the more out there choices that people have clamored for.

Heck, I would be surprised if we see any more Drell characters or Vorcha characters, etc. The choices that we have received thus far are simply the "iconic" characters of those races. We have the biotic assassins in the Drell Vanguards/Adepts, we have the Asari biotic commandos in the Vanguard/Adept and the more "specialist" version of them in the Asari Justicar, we have the Geth Hunter and the "regular" Geth soldiery in the form of the Engineer(who is based upon Legion minus the Geth Shield Matrix), we have the Salarian Infiltrator/Engineer, etc etc.

I will admit, I also doubt we're going to see more species, or that there are any to add. But then what about the existing races. If they can create new Human classes, one's we have not seen before in the campaign, why can't they do the same for the alien races outside the "iconic" classes that you mentioned? Again, I don't have a problem with humans for being humans. It's the fact that by adding more humans they're screwing over the current existing alien races (specifically Drell, Geth, Salarian, Turian, Vorcha, Batarian) that I have a problem with.

I guess SP mode is so f*ck*d up that there's nothing more for them to work on than the only part of their game that anybody cares about anymore. That's not a dumb move. The dumb moves happened with not fixing the ending.

Because they're obligated to rewrite their story just because a few people whined about it (edit: and sent them cupcakes... which is such a great way to protest). I know people that whined about the way the Lord of the Rings movies ended, saying it didn't follow the way things happened in the books. Did they rerelease them later with "expanded content" the way those people wanted it? Of course not. The truly dumb move was so-called fans (acting more like fanboys) demanding that BioWare "fix" their story content.

So much this.

The common misconception.  It wasn't a few, it was the majority of the people who played their game.  Every poll taken on every site out there overwhelmingly showed the discontent of the SP ending.

Show me where 60-70% or more of the people that bought ME3 complained about the ending. Show me hard numbers on how many people complained, compared to the game's total sales, then come back here and tell me which of us has a "misconception."

You mean inferno grenades, that's just the Krogan's powers copied over to the memory error doppelganger.

I must admit, I'll be a little disappointed if the new classes are all human. The ability to play the aliens is one of the (but not only) reasons I love multiplayer. It'd be nice if BioWare expanded the class selection for some of the existing species; humans can already be every class.

They're confirmed to be humans.

Get over it. Aliens have the lion's share of the good abilities and are "no brainer" selections when playing as these classes if wanting to be really effective.

Interesting.  I see more complaints about how the quarian engineer is weakest class in the game or how drell vanguards are the worst vanguard while at the same time hearing people brag about their human vanguards busting things up, human soldiers tearing things apart with their Harriers, or how the human engineer "is a beast" for damage output.  It goes both ways.  People like different kits.  People like different species.

But power selection is -not- the point.  Humans are already well-represented both in the six starting classes and the recent ex-Cerberus variants (no other species gets Lash or Smash, mind you) to say nothing of -every- single player campaign in each of the Mass Effect games (Shepard).  Multiplayer is the only place players have the chance to break away from that.

The Quarian Engineer got buffed and is far from the "weakest class in the game". It has not been for a matter of weeks, in fact.

Drell Vanguards are the "worst Vanguard" because they are extremely squishy. Human Vanguards, when played well, are extremely amazing...but when played poorly they're a drain upon the team.
Human Soldiers tearing things apart with their Harriers are relying upon an Ultra Rare Assault Rifle and the Rare "Warfighter's Package" to supplement the Harrier damage with Frag Grenades.
Human Engineers just got buffed as well, previously they were in the same boat as the Quarian Engineer.

No other species besides the Asari has Stasis or Biotic Shield.
No other species besides the Batarian has Blade Armor or Ballistic Blade or Submission Net.

Each species has something "unique" to them. It's not specific to the Phoenix characters.

Some people's sarcasm is weak and meaningless so even the average forum poster won't know when they read it. Trying being a little more, you know, aggressive with power.

Look at the grenade skill again please. Cluster grenade = Biotic skill. That the equivalent of giving an Infiltrator Warp. Hmm maybe you're right but I hope we get to use that sweet armor the Marines use on campaign!

Again, power selection or the power of the class is not my point.  You can argue about it all you want, but it's all subjective (for example, I never thought the FQE was the worst, but many did).  What is -not- subjective is humans being the single, most well-represented species in multiplayer.  They can be any class and have the Phoenix classes as well, plus more coming apparently.  What other single species currently has eight (nine if you want to include the BF3 soldier) classes available to it?

Here you go.

Yet another UR assault rifle....do they just really hate people who love automatic weapons?  Can't we get something good at the Rare level?

Truth be told, I used a few times and it worked well on Hardcore.  I didn't use it on Insanity, but it was always fun watching Javik melt away the enemies.
Not sure if you have had the pleasure of using the Particle Rifle in single player, but it is a constant stream of death.  Hold down the trigger and watch the enemy fall into a pile of green goo.

On casual maybe, i found it very hard to use on Insanity, due to having to move constantly to avoid grenades

Truth be told, I only
tried it out on Hardcore a few times and it worked well.  I never tried it on Insanity, but it was fun watching Javik melt away enemies.

It works a lot better on your AI companions.
I'm not relying on my 12 year old companions in MP ;-)

Sounds like you need better friends.
