LOL -- it's not like WoW invented the possibility of respeccing in RPGs, so I'm not sure what the hostility here is about :/ In fact, almost every feature in WoW was used in countless games before it.
It's true that as a feature you find it more often in hack-n-slash ARPGs than "hardcore" RPGs, but I've seen it in one or two of the latter type... Two Worlds, for instance.
I'm aware that some people hate the idea; I tend to like it, myself, if it's implemented right -- i.e., limited respec (one or two points) with a reasonable cost. It should be expensive enough that it's good for fixing a mistake and saving yourself hours of rollback/repeated play; it should not be so cheap that it makes sense to respec for every boss fight, for instance.

No Bioware game has included this, so I wouldn't count on it.

I believe one of the reviews that has been released complained about the game not having this feature.

Though the combat seems to take a great deal from it.

No it will not Chris already stated we will not be able to undo our talents in skills if you are unsure of your choice just save it before you pick.

You can prolly mod 1 if there isnt.

In NWN I just used a character editor to retrospectively fix mistakes. I'll probably do the same here--saving and reloading just doesn't cut it when you're looking at possible going back and replaying hours of time.

A question of balance... If I could respec what would stop me (a thief) to respec lockpicking for particular chests and afterwards to full combat?
No thank you. It is ok the way it is.

my only concern on respecc is for example the human warrior starting with shield sweep or w.e the name from start when its uterly useless if u go 2 handed or dual wield, on should be given the option on char creation to select wich talent you want at early start.

I strongly desire a respec option. Saving and fretting over talent choices is frustrating, and interrupts immersion. Respec won't affect replay value for me. I will replay the game many, many times.
If the dev is concerned about replay, then I can tell you this: the prospect of getting stuck with a mistake the next 40 hours is immensely frustrating. Frustrating enough to encourage me to move on to another game.

Ok for the ones who said you dont need a respec option well your full of it. You rthe guys who theroy craft and dont actuly test. Me on the other had i do both. So in that respect *theroy then testing theroy* a respec option would be most wanted. For example i took the chance to pick up blood mage and arcane warrior in hopes that i could use my mana for sustains (20 will) and my hp for casting. For the simple fact there is no real way to get large ammounts of mana back, but if u go blood mage u can get hp back from allies (Animate Dead is good for this) that u can use to cast and this also wroks with Death magic. Now what if i put in the time to make a toon like this and none of these skills worked together.....o well im out 30+ hrs. So with myranting over Bioware needs to add in a respec option so ppl can test out theory and not have to waste all that time. Nough said Peace.

o as far s the respecing to open a chest goes. Make respcing a heafty price so todo it for a reason like that would be a total waste.

Grats on digging this topic up. Devs have said no to respec, no tooltips AND no combat logs.
I hope people are aware that you can infact _save_ ability, skill AND talent points.
This way you can think about your decisions, and not make as many "mistakes".
This also enbales you to get more skills on higher-tiers, like 2x T2 skills on level 4, instead of just one. You will also have a few extra ability points when you find that new armor.
