Or was it what? Yes, the same announcement, just properly formatted.

Operation: Broadside (July 13-16)
Typo?

Yeah I dunno. It clearly states 400,000 squads. A squad is, by definition, a full squad. Did you really think 400,000 extractions of any type over the weekend was the 'challenge'?
No they don't. Squad doesn't mean one person. It wouldn't be a squad, would it? They would've just said at least 1 squad member for the allied goal just as they did for the squad goal. They differentiated between the two. People just didn't read it well enough. Also, they posted on saturday in the forums that you needed full extraction on any difficulty. So us failing was due to people simply not reading it well enough.Free Bird wrote...

This operation was complete BS. The first page of this thread still says "Special Circumstances: None" right after a simple statement of extractions. There is no comment on FULL extractions except by one offhanded post by a dev, on the forums which only a small percentage of people read, and was NOT listed in the splash screen that probably few people read anyway (considering the number of non reaper games I ended up in during the weekend, VERY few people). The only thing they could do worse at this point is come out and tell us that we needed a full gold extraction for the commendation pack, in which case I will quit this game, new DLC or no. I don't like wasting my time only to be screwed over.

Squad Goal: Extract at least one squad member against Reapers on Gold difficulty
Allied Goal: Extract 400,000 squads against Reapers on ANY difficulty
Special Circumstance: None
they way that words it out it meins at lest 1 member of the squad must extract so to win we needid 400,000 games with at lest 1 player getting extracted. on ether gold, silver, or bornze.
not the hole squad.
when they say squads they me at lest 1 member must live and make it to the extraction point. and we need that to hapen 400,000 times not 400,000 times for the hole squad

They specified what they wanted for one, but were vague about the other.

Did they clarify yet whether "Allied Goal: Extract 400,000 squads against Reapers on ANY difficulty" means full extraction is required?
Yes, full extraction all members.
Leave no one behind.

a.) Results are always posted on Tuesdays, not Mondays.
b.) The formatting was horrible.
c.) The red font made it nearly impossible to read.

You know, usually it takes until Tuesday for them to add up all the numbers and tell us we done bad..
How interesting that in less than 12 hours, they had the entire thing tabulated what with Comicon going on... Interesting indeed.

Regardless of what they intended, the way it was worded clearly had many people confused. That's their fault. They should know by now that the fans need everything spelled out for them in crayon.

How do you figure 12 hours if it ended sunday morning at 10 am? more like 30 hours

I hope that someone at Bioware picks up on this. I enjoy playing the weekend challenges and try my best to put the hours in to succeed with allied goals at least. I am sure many others do. There is a point here that there was conflicting information on this site and the mass effect site blog. The question was asked a number of times on this thread, but no clarification was given.(accept my apology if that is not so)
Surely someone at Bioware can check the multiplayer discussion and catch a promlem like this.
I accept that some queries can be answered by players themselves, ie if it is 6pm PST what time is it in the UK?.
This is different. It demanded clarification.
We have had some form of confusion for nearly every event we have had because BioWare can't be clear on goals/times/whatever. This one alone had the ending time issue and the fact that full extractions were required for the community goal even though they weren't mentioned.
There has also been confusion in the past in regards to whether or not soloing counts, whether it counts if you join a game already in progress, what time the event starts since we seem to get the splash screen before the listed starting time, there was the issue a while back where the BioWare twitter person gave out incorrect information about the event that then had to be corrected here, etc.
They just have a rather obvious issue with clarity. For this specific one, all they had to do was edit the forum post to show the proper time, and change the community goal to say "full extractions" and it would have been fixed. The BioWare guys aren't stupid, as proved by their (mostly) great games, so I don't understand why it is so hard for them to do.
Most of the confusion hasn't really affected me much, but I still find it annoying because being clear isn't something that is hard to do. Hell, I would volunteer my services to proof-read and check for clarity on all future operation posts if I thought there was any chance of it happening.
why do people read this as extracting full squads? i don't understand...Chris Priestly wrote...
