Well, I don't really understand, why. There's no money spread around like for MMO's, so what do they expect? I take every DLC thankful as a gift and would proudly support Bioware where I could, as long as they continue with that way of policy they go atm.
I like...
...the events, they are diversified.
...Admiral Hacket's feedback to those, cause this affects my roleplay-spirit.
...the consequences of success and failure. It's in sence of Mass Effect - cause and effect.
And yep, still waiting impatiently for the amazing and free Earth-DLC. A shame the X-Boxer got it so much earlier, what is it, Origin - wake up!

Is there any official confirmation the event failed ?
Not anymore. They did post an in-character thing from Admiral Hackett saying we failed but they pulled it shortly after.
Can't remember where I read it but I do remember someone saying in one of the threads that Jessica Merizan (the... community relations manager I think her title is?) said in a PM that they're "internally discussing how to proceed." So between the guy that said that and me, it's now third hand hearsay. Here, have a cup of salt.
Perhaps due to the confusion about the end time/date of the event, BW needs to analyze if a significant drop-off in the rates of full extractions occured Sunday while the event was still in progress but many thought it was over.
Just a guess.

So... Did we win? Guess they haven't announced if we did yet.
There was a thread saying we failed, and then they deleted it and have been SUPER quiet since then.

Do you remember that right before the Rebellion Pack, we failed an OP, and that was the excuse to release the new trainees (AKA, the Rebellion Pack - such as the Vorcha).
So don't act surprised when we get the mail from Admiral Hackett saying that we failed the OP, so "in order to boost our numbers we shall add to the fight some real N7 fighters".
All the new characters are N7 and human, so that makes sense...
Yup, and all we need to do is get some BW points to unlock it
Or grind MP. Ugh...still haven't been able to freakin' unlock anyone despite buying Premium spectre packs...and the one character that did drop...was a Human Infiltrator...what the hell?

You fought hard but I’m afraid Operation Broadside was unsuccessful. We’ll take time to recover and fight back stronger!
So the question is..was the goal simply too high or have MP numbers dropped? I know I had a tough time fiding groups this weekend.

1) credit farmers who didn't want to fight geth
2) people who wanted to play FBWGG for credits instead of playing a silver reaper
3) people who could have beaten it but purposely died on wave 10
4) people who are scared to fight reapers
its our own fault. I spent all weekend playing only reapers. if we all did that and tried to full extract we would have gotten it.

Don't forget the portion of the community at comicon playing the DLC before it was released and not helping with it ...... Yea they wanted us to fail this 1Thurelh wrote...
Hehe, looks like they overrated the success-statistics, while planning the goal for Operation: Broadside. Agree with Tosh-Ts in terms of the number of people, which didn't care, which enemy they'r fighting against. Nearly 40% of community-people seem to avoid the events...

The thing that amazed me was the number of horrific last second blunders in a number of matches i played. A vorcha who just had to run over and flame the banshee with the whole team filling her full of lead. The Krogan who just had to nick those few extra exp near the end. The people who made no attempt at all at getting to the Ezone. Lost at least 4 or 5 full extractions very very late just by dumb play by people when we really had it in the bag.

Re: Operation BROADSIDE
Confidentiality classification: XB-PRIME
Distribution: N7 Forces Only
Soldiers of the Milky Way –
There is an old human expression: “You reap what you sow.” The word “reap” has been co-opted by our enemy, but this does not make the expression any less true. We have spent much time in recent weeks planting seeds. We recruited, we trained, we defended, all in the hopes that, sometime soon, we would have enough breathing room to mobilize against the enemy on a grand scale. Over the past few days, we did just that.
Operation BROADSIDE attacked Reapers all over the galaxy, and we made them take notice. They expected to fight asari on Thessia, turians on Palaven, batarians on Khar’shan, but what they got was turian bombardments covering vorcha troops using human tactics in asari streets. It was perhaps due to this complexity that BROADSIDE did not go as planned. We sought a way to defeat a numerically superior ground force with little loss of life, but there was no sure strategy to adopt. When we innovate, our enemy adapts. Yes, we’ve seen losses, but a war worth fighting does not come without a cost.
Take inspiration in that. I know it is discouraging to fight for alien real estate when we have not yet taken the battle to your own homeworld. Operational secrecy prevents me from saying exactly when we will deploy and in what strength. All I can say to those who are waiting is one word:
Soon.
–Admiral Hackett
