One thing i'd like to see in all operations is the final balance. OK, we failed, but how close did we get? These reports, with all its pep-talks but lacking military info are very frustrating.

Did they mention it somewhere?Not that I don't trust you but if it would be nice if Bio said so themselves or they might turn the tables on us and say "We didn't say we would be giving out commendation packs for Broadside"

At least some sort of "packs are being sent out" so that we can gauge when to contact EA support AGAIN.

I still think it should've been the other way around .. squad goal have the victory pack with extra medi gel and the allied goal be the commendation pack.
At least that way, those that actually did the extraction on gold against reapers would get a better pay off. Oh well, sucks but not the end of the world.

Such a scenario will end up being a dual-edged sword.On one hand,that could galvanize the playerbase into actually working hard to achieve the allied goal.On the other hand,it could drive away alot of regular event players.The reason being that they might not want to waste so much time and effort only to fail and not get an N7 weapon all because a large portion of the playerbase don't have the time or skill to attempt multiple matches relating to the goal.At least for the squad goal,you have greater control over its outcome,increasing the chances of actually getting an N7 weapon.

They convinced me not to bother with contributing to the weekend goals when it is one of these 'tough' operations.

I busted my ass and got 50 or so extractions. I wasted my weekend on it. Will i do so again when they could not make the effort to type up a post on the operational goals properly?

Nope.

And not the first op this happened on either.

I wonder if the brilliant people in charge of these events regularly invite people to parties, completely screw up the invitations, and then act like it's everyone else's fault that no one showed up.

It would explain a few things.

Good point.  They also succeeded in giving me the strength I need.  I was reaaaaaaally tempted to give in and drop $30 on PSP's for the new stuff.  But now, seeing how they gave us an impossible goal, didn't tell 98% of the players what the impossible goal was, dangled a beautiful carrot in front of us, and then didn't even have the guts to be honest about the whole screwed up affair... it's given me the strength I need to resist the urge to help pay these people's salaries.

They still have not said anything about it.However if Operation Silencer(the other event we failed) is anything to go by, they should be giving us the commendation packs.

I'll keep my fingers crossed though.

People, you just experienced real life in the military. At times miscommunication from the top, confusion about goals. Objectives not always reached. I know we have some military people on here that play, I would assume that most of them have some story about orders from command or intelligence being confusing or wrong.

I was mainly concerned with the N7 weapon upgrade anyways. The medi-gel would have been nice though. Wasn't my fault, that's for sure. I full extracted over 50 times with my squad this weekend.

How many people, really, were like "Oh, my three squad mates are all in the ring.  Guess I'll go run off and blast some mooks to raise my score, no need for me to extract?"

I can imagine a few cases where some people might have elected to not use a medigel or not revive someone, but that's pretty rare.  I doubt knowing the rules would make a difference in even 10% of the partial extractions of the weekend. 

The real reason we failed is because the goal was really freakin' lofty.  We couldn't kill 2 million banshees (or however many.  It wasn't more than 3 million).  Don't people kill at least 5 banshees in the span of a full extraction even on bronze?  I kinda doubt there were more than 400k games played against reapers on any difficulty.

Most people expect OP describes what event is about. Even I didn't check but OP and was surprised to hear that allied goal needs to be full extraction. Didn't matter for me, got full excraction on gold, but when I read that OP was bit vague, I got this feeling that this may not end well.

If I'm gona waste my time doing this, I'm ona need more transparency from bioware in regards to these events. Give us some kinda stats about how we failed or Im just gona not worry about them anymore and just participate willy nilly
