I remember when we failed that Operation where you had to kill loads of Banshees.

The next operation had loads of Banshees.

What would be the consequences of failure this time?

Husks driving atlases during reaper matches? :D

Game audio is replaced by Justin Bieber music set on loop for the next 5 days! I think this would be the worst consequence so far.

Was this operation on the Playstation Network as well? Because I never received any messages or pop-ups when joining telling me about the operation. If it wasn't for the forum, I wouldn't had even known about it. I still did my part, at least, just wondering if it really all even mattered or if PS3 players weren't even part of the operation? Either way, least I managed to get up a nice sum of credits for the Earth DLC.

I am very upset about this operation.
So many bad unclear information by bioware. They dont gave us details correctly.
I did not know about allied goal need to be a full extraction.

It needed to be full extractions for the allied goal? Where did you learn that?

If that's the case, then it sure could have been communicated more explicitly.

Yes, Sony has finally given in and allowed PS3 users to participate as well (Which is just as well, as we probably would have failed this without you folks). You just don't get the official notice for some reason though.

This really bothered me aswell since I use a PS3 and the lack of info. Full extraction should have been posted.

Thanks. I had heard of Sony finally working with them to let the Operations on PS3, I just felt it was prudent to ask since I never saw mention of it in-game. Hopefully enough PS3 players follow the forums and game news sites to know about the operation, every little bit helps.

Here's hoping we hear good news and operation successful tomorrow or whenever they announce it. That extra medi-gel will go a long way. B)

Tell me about it. I actually found out about the opertation late in the day on the 14th. I've made a note to check up on these forums more often now since apparently we don't see Operation details or announcements on PS3. But at least we can still participate, rather we know about it or not.

It says extract 1 squad member. Not full extraction.

Nowhere does it specify Full Extraction. Remember, even Sole Survivor counts as a "success" in terms of complete-objectives-and-GTFO, ergo, any form of extraction would have counted.

Also -- All those who claim we failed Broadside? As they say on Wikipedia, [citation needed]

This is what I copied off the BIOWARE website:
Squad Goal: Extract at least one squad member against Reapers on Gold difficulty
Allied Goal: Extract 400,000 squads against Reapers on ANY difficulty
Special Circumstance: None

Yeah, Howard is right. The blog said SQUADS not squad members. Anything less than full extraction doesn't count. Not very clear I know, but to be honest, you should be aiming for full extraction regardless. The ten thousand extra points you get for full extraction outweighs the hundreds you get if you stay out to kill more enemies.

Ehh??? It says extract at least 1 member. I agree that full extractions are better, but 1 is enough!Image IPB

We had banshees spawning randomly during other matches (against geth and cerberus) for a while.

The fact is, they didn't specify full or partial. Military briefings (even play ones) tend to be explicit as possible and if they didn't specify that only full extractions count, I see no reason to take it as given.

They only needed to include one additional word ("full") to make this explicit. A partial extraction is an extraction. If full was a requirement, then this was a failure of communication.

I believe those are if you failed the previous op like banshees spawning randomly.

Yes, there was one to kill 1,000,000 Banshees. We failed and the next challenge weekend had random Banshee spawns, even with Geth and Cerberus.

The pluralisation of Squad refers to the 400,000 extractions needed, not to the need for >1 player to extract.

Allied Goal required full extractions according to an official EA FAQ from UK.

I did my part.
Bronze was quite easy, with my Krogans.
Slightly annoyed when one guy decided not to come for full extraction.

Gold was pretty hard with random teams - more than 50% failure rate, with plenty of gells/missiles used.

We have it done. I bagged four gold with a great team. Then got countless silvers as I coasted during the weekend. Gotta love the Roof head bang glitch for Banshees. Not able to teliport past anyone in cover inside the White kept all the Banshees in check. Plus making sure that my team mates knew that the stomach intestine of the brute is the weak spot, dropping him quick.

Ha, funny to read this Roof Head bang glitch.  That is what i had encounter with a friend who brought his friend into a FBW gold run.  It was very cool to see this glitch.  It worked most of the time but occasionally the banshee did kill someone but the squadmate was easy to revive.  Unfortunately, we parished at wave 10 ~  Earlier I did some silver runs with others, which went well and then we tried gold but yet again a wave 10 death.  I was fortunate enough to hook up with this friend's friend's team who were more than willing to aid this poor Turian Soldier out.  Let me tell you this gold run on glacier was a "clinic".  I have read on the forums that one needs to use biotics (or at least it would be very helpful) to get the extraction, so to my surprise when there were two phoenix vanguards and a Krogan Sentinal (I believe) I was very surprised.  Shotguns were max X. I played with the Asari Justicar and reaved my brains out.  The strategies this team had was to "steamroll" from the drop off spot, keep on the move constantly so the reapers don't catch you, up the left ramp into the main bunker where the ammo depot is down the back ramp and up the back stairs and around to where the extraction spot is.  Needless to say it was lash and melee galore.  This merry-go-round went on for about 4-5 rounds.  There was even a pizza delivery or two, thrown in for good measure.  About wave 5 or 6 we just camped out in the bottom bunker (as soon as the banshee started to scream) where the ammo depot is and all hammered whatever came down the ramp or on the other side down the stairs.  It was pure carnage! I really have not seen anything like this ~ this team walked through 2 brutes and 2 banshees without a blink.  Anyone who was down was revived and we carried on.  By Wave 10 rockets were flying, melee galore, lashs going down - wow.  With about 40 seconds left we bolted for extraction, i almost got stuck with a ravenger and maurd. on the stairs but I managed to take them out and get passed them.  I think only one on the team was not extracted but hey I will get my pack so i am grateful to this team that aided out my Turain ass on the mission.  They said that they were more than happy to help the "cause".  I tip my helmet to these soldiers for the beating they put on the repeapers it was truely unbelieveable. :o

One happy Turain Rebel Out.
