The taint is not passed to the children of the grey wardens. The taint is not hereditary. Levi Dryden is living proof of that.
I think if you tried every night for 10 years to have a baby, you would end up pregnant, unless you had some real medical / physical reason you couldnt have children, but then that has nothing to do with the taint.
Actually, Sophia had progeny prior to her becoming a warden. So, he doesn't really prove anything.
Morrigan offers to mother a tainted child and she needs to bed a Warden who hasn't been one for long (which is why she asks for Alistair or you, instead of Roirdan). The taint can be passed along, but apparently only in the beginning stage of Warden-hood?

Hmmm, it looks as though I need a thumbnail of Alistair kissing a beautiful dwarf for the "other" trolls.

Not true. If you get Alistair mad in the OC, and he renounces his bloodline and Anora is queen. There is a quest that is given by Morrigan to conceive a child by being fertilized from Loghain. Not sure if you knew that. Of course, Morrigan plans to raise that child in seclusion and so forth, but the taint is the only reson she wants the baby because the soul of the Archdemon will transfer into that baby. That's how you keep from anyone having to die to defeat the Archdemon. You may have already known this though, sorry if you did.

Not sure what Alistair renouncing the throne has to do with anything, but Morrigan's ritual doesn't factor in. It's established by the novels that Warden babies do not carry the taint. Morrigan must have manipulated the conception in order to get some of the taint for her own purposes.vegasbilly wrote...

Gaider has said that 2 GWs cannot have children by natural means. It doesn't matter how many times you do the deed with Alistair, either you have to find a blood magic solution or some other "unnatural" means or it ain't happenin'. Of course, the latter is just what my Warden Queen is planning to try to do. Keep hope alive!

Happy day indeed. Biowares probably going to make the crappy dark ritual canon to appease all you 'happy ending' wusses, so I at least deserve a few laughs before then.

??? I'm not sure I understand you. You think people are upset by you? Some trolls are funny. Some really do upset people. Most are meh. I won't say which you are, but I don't see anyone laughing, nor anyone screaming so... draw your own conclusions. I CAN give you some trolling lessons if you'd like -- I'm pretty good at getting both reactions when I chose to do so.
Lesson 1: Don't troll on necroposts. People have moved on.

Actually, if you get Alistair mad, you get a lovely hate speech from him which is completely worth hearing at least once. He'll still become king if you make him do so -- he only renounces his claim if you make Anora solo queen and tell her not to execute him.

Lesson 1: Don't troll on necroposts. People have moved on.
Its quite simple.
- Alistair has the most fans.
- Most people who romance Alistair wanted a happy ending.
- The only way to get that is to do the dark ritual.
- Bioware would try to appease the larger fanbase by making the Dark ritual ending canon.
- I hate Morrigan, and seeing more of her in future sequels wouldn't be cool.

Would andrastes sacred ashes somehow be able to help the fertility problem?
Interesting idea.... Do the ashes disappear if you kill the dragon, too, or just if you don't? That might be an indicator.

taint...natural problem..whatever...if it's possible for a non-warden and a warden to have kids (regardless how small) then it MUST be possible for two wardens to have children..the chances will just be exponentially LESS then the non-warden/warden chance...
and it being the darkspawn taint is a poor excuse right along the same intelligence and credibility as "a wizard did it"
I'm not insulting your intelligence believe it or not I'm trying to make a point...
if a warden can't have a kid they can't have a kid...whether it's two wardens or whatever mix/match of non-warden/warden you want....if a non-warden/warden have a tiny chance...then a warden/warden MUST have, at least a miniscule, chance.
And there's no nice way to say it but if you're going to stick to the "the darkspawn taint makes it so" you may as well just say a wizard did it...it's idiotic, makes no sense, is a cop-out, and a poor excuse for bad writing (and yes I'm a big fan of your writing...until this at least.)
so one last time..if a non-warden/warden have a very small chance of having a baby then two wardens MUST have a chance as well...even if it's 1 in infinity-plus-1...the chance is there.

Yes, you are changing your very nature, becoming something else. Even though it eventually kills you, I don't see it as something curable.
@ Suron: I look at it as being like a defective gene. A child could be conceived and be viable with 1 bad gene. But if it receives two bad genes, the baby wouldn't be viable. The other way to solve that problem is to just RP a solution.

Average mediaval age is 20-30 because child death pulls the average down. People in the medieval ages got almost as old as we do now, if they survived childhood.
no, we have advances in medical care that allow us to live past 100, average people back then live to 60, if they were lucky

ok, avernus had learned to extend his live through study of his taint, you were then able to drink his results, if you chose to drink it, thus didnt your life get extended aswell?
No, no no. He prolonged his life with some demon-voodoo. You drink the anti-demon blood magic (ergo, magic that demons do not know of) potion that he devised to use against Sophia Dryden. No life-extension for you.
