Avernus is an abmonination and will tell you if you massage the conversation correctly (he says he gets his life-force from a 'similiar source' as the undead Sofia Dryden, but unlike her, he is completely in control).

Thus Avernus seems like a less powerful and tainted variation of Flemeth.....the Demon inside makes him immortal, but the taint is slowly but surely destroying his body.

It is funny how female nobles can't get a happy ending ( you know family and all that ) while male nobles can with Anora.

Wait!!! What???  We do to get happy ending's.  At least with the HNF we have a man that loves us if we romanced and married Alistair.  The HNM gets a cold fish that doesn't even want kids and that's even confirmed in Awakenings lol.

But as far as it comes to having kids for the women we really do get the sh**ty end of the deal.  Alistair get's to make god-baby with Morrigan, and if your a male pc that romances Morrigan whether you do the ritual or not she's possibly pregnant with your child.  BLOWS

yeah i thought that was unfair to us women, but i guess it would be hard to fight if we were pregnant, hmmmmmph blummin sexist, men can have a kid but not us females were destined to be infertile, never mind hopefully after saving thedas a few times we will have enough money for treatment to have a child by other means, before we go to the deep roads to die, unless we find a miracle cure and get rid of the taint :}

It's set up, on purpose no doubt, that no one can ever get a fairy tale perfect ending, at least not if you want to have the princess and half the Kingdom too. Get stuck in politics and you have to sacrifice something else whether you are male or female. Men and women just have to make different sacrifices that is all.

I think that is all in all the game is better for it. If it was possible to the whole rainbow, the love of your life and be King or Queen everyone would go for it. This way nothing comes without a cost.

Of course they can.  Just  because they can't have a baby with Alistair doesn't mean they can't have a baby!

Edit: When I play a Queen Cousland, I always take the ending that resulting in a child is the most likely.  Of course, a HNF doesn't HAVE to be queen either!

My Female Human Noble doesn't have any problem with allowing Alistair to conceive an heir with another woman if it's really a necessity. She didn't mind Alistair doing the Dark Ritual with Morrigan, either. She knows he loves her and isn't going to cheat on her by his own volition.

Mine doesn't mind either, but that's because she knows he doesn't like her that much (or that they're best friends), but since he doesn't mind her trying for an heir with someone else, she feels she should extend Ali the same courtesy.

I'm not sure why I can't play Alistair and Queen Cousland as a love match, actually.  That would be pretty awesome.

The thing about a perfect happy ending is that it's complete. You have to break something to continue. Here? Lots to work with. ;)

I just think it would work better, if they decided to go this route, if the queen is the one who... what do you call it...  hires a surrogate?  There are going to be challenges if it's known the heir is a bastard, even if it's a bastard that Alistair recognizes publicly.  If the queen were to discreetly get herself pregnant elsewhere, they could secure the throne more easily for their heir.  It would be deceiving people that it was a Theirin heir, but Cousland blood isn't shabby, either, and the Calenhad legend is really what matters.  That, and the chance for them to secure an orderly succession.

It's happy ending for me. I ******* hate kids. :devil:
I decided I wasn't going to be having babies when I was in single figures. Everyone said "ooh you'll change." Well I'm 42 now. Biological clock? Never ticked once.
My aversion to breeding is so strong that it carries over to my female characters. However, I am perfectly happy to play a male who knocks up Morrigan or weds himself to Anora to beget heirs. That's cool. That doesn't involve trying to push something the size of a melon through something the diameter of a carrot. *shudder* And there are servants to take care of nappy changes and the like.
