Well the PC male warden has a better chance conceiving as he can only marry anora. The female warden will be less likely to conceive as she only can marry Alistair

Or go off on merry adventures with Zev, or do something else.

I could say all the option thats just long you forgot leliana

It is also NOT IMPOSSIBLE for two Wardens to have a child, just very difficult. Plus, since the Dark Ritual was performed, the essence of the Archdemon would be passed unto the "child" of Morrigan and Alistair, not a child of Alistair and whoever else he has a child with.

By "very difficult," I assume we all mean "INSANELY difficult."  Still.  That would make quite the angsty FemWarden/King Alistair fanfic, in my opinion.  Once I finish this semester of schoolwork, maybe I'll do that.  Work first, then play.  Le sigh.

Anyway.  I suppose you could get the Maker involved, along the lines of "And the Maker smiled on them and gave to them the ability to conceive, and they had a happy family and lived happily ever after, until the taint caught up with them; the end."  That's for those of us who like (mostly) fairytale endings.  Those of y'all who don't... Shh!  Go away!  Leave me to my fairytale.  XD

A Grey Warden can have a child... just not with another Grey Warden. So in the case of Alistair being married to a female PC the only possible result is no heir (unless Alistair has a child with someone other than his wife, I suppose). Grey Wardens have a limited chance of conception with a non-Grey Warden, but it does happen... and the child is not tainted in any fashion.

WHAT?! When was that decided? I thought it was just extremely unlikely, not impossible >.> Alistair never says it's impossible, only unheard of, in game :S but I guess if the dev is saying it, that crushes my hope that demonbaby will have a sibling.

Doing something else excludes Leli, since two females getting a baby has yet to happen to the humans as a specie. With Zev, you could get a baby. Or you can not romance any of them and imagine your char being swept off her feet by a man in a near future after the ending.

I wonder if there are any players out there who decided not to pursue ANY romance in the game whatsoever!

Must take some kind of special determination not to succumb to that.

Well, there goes my fairy tale!  I was hoping for a loophole somewhere that would make my fanfiction plausible.  I had this all planned out that Alistair and Orlaine (my PC) would have twins because of some ancient Tevinter fertility charms given to them by some sorceress out of Orlais and somehow the act of having these children born of two Wardens would somehow give Alistair and Orlaine an additional 20 years and would somehow dilute the taint.  And these twins would start bloodlines that would play into the next two Blights.  Looks like that idea is scrapped...

Darn I just realized, if you make Alistair sleep with Morrigan for the ritual, Morrigan would be carrying a baby with the Theirin bloodline!

When did fanfiction ever needed to be true to the source or canon?

I intended only to have sex with with prostitutes and a sheep (arcanum reference, due to bestiality in rating). I succumbed to it though. They come and beg with their puppy eyes....

I think I said this in another thread but I was working on an Alistair and PC story. However, it started to get fractured when I started taking into account everything that could happen in the ending. I have four different Word files now. One for the beginning and three for after. Now that David said that two Gray Wardens will never have a child together, I can scrap that one entirely and go with my, "She got dumped, found another man and Alistair is jealous" one. That or I can just scrap the whole thing.  =]

Edit: I'm with you Demeira.

No no no! Work with it!

Make it so that Alistair is so downtrodden that he cannot consumate an heir, that your PC is forced to cheat on her husband, saying that her baby was a miracle, and murder the real father, his friends, family and people who owe him money or is owed money, and keeps her dark secrets, knowing the Theirin bloodline unofficially dies with her secret!

Crush a girl's in-game hopes and dreams why don't you.

That's it, I'm going to kill myself! I'll have my faithful mabari hold Alistair at the gates while I go slaughter Archdemons in my misery.

I guess getting married has nothing to do with how long you plan to live or how many children you plan on having. If I loved someone enough, I might ask them to get married even if I knew I would die young and have no children.

I've been married for 13 years and it seems like a short time.

I want to taste them too!

As long as I have Taleroth. Screw Alistair.
