Indeed! I realized Zev was the partner for me when he told me Harrowmount was too weak to be king. A husband who offers useful insights (in addition to charm)? Yes, please.

Wasnt this another reason for not doing d&d again besides the licence itself?

I guess getting married has nothing to do with how long you plan to live or how many children you plan on having. If I loved someone enough, I might ask them to get married even if I knew I would die young and have no children.
I've been married for 13 years and it seems like a short time.
But they are expected to have a heir it's like traditional thing in royalty

Ah, I see why now women gorge themselves on chocolate in times of depression then! It's to stock up on their dreams!
I wonder if diet or lifestyle will improve on the taste though, must do more research. For the glory of sweets!

When Alistair talks about it, it sounds as though it's unlikely for one Grey Warden to conceive and that the chances for two would be minuscule. I think we can take David's remark to mean that Bioware won't make it happen, not that the Maker's blessing couldn't make it so in your game. Negatives are notoriously hard to prove and how thoroughly would Grey Warden fertility have been tested, really? Even if there's no known instance of two Grey Wardens conceiving a child that wouldn't make it impossible. It might cause some (like David) to believe it to be impossible, but if your PC wishes to continue research into the matter, I wouldn't let him discourage you.

Sick b*stards.
Have you no pity for your fellow grey warden sisters? At least as a male grey warden you can have your main squeeze bare your first born. Even if she runs away you have the hope of finding them, and even a hint to it.
I think I need to go indulge in a pint of Haagen-Daz double fudge chocolate ice cream.
Even if it is the middle of winter.

Sounds like wishful thinking to try to change a game designer's mind on what they should do with their characters, a little arrogant even. While I could certainly want it to be so, it would be no more false than a lot of male gamers wishing Alistair is gay.Imryll wrote...

We can wish it, want it, but doesn't change the cold hard facts. There must be a reason to it, not that I have to like to accept it, but it's there. I don't think me whining about it could change that. Well, not me alone anyway.
I hope that there's another loophole. Maybe I can do the Isolde route and go to blood magic. Have my PC die in child birth through blood magic to make an heir or something. I can settle with that. I dunno, maybe I can pray every night to Andraste for intervention if I have a super morally good PC. It's something a lot of Christian do - pray to the virgin Mary to ask God for help in their place since God cannot turn a request from her down. Maybe the Chantry and Thedas have something similar.
At this point in time though, I think I'll just mopey about the situation.

A wizard did it.
And by wizard, I mean the bloodmage in warden's keep.
And by did it, I wasn't talking about magic.

mm a tainted bloodline ... that's almost as interesting as the whole morrigan and the god child debate. if it's difficult to conceive a child then maybe we should have our own dark ritual to ensure that only one try is needed![]()
Now where's the fun in only one try?

Well, if our sister wardens were über-hot, I might feel sympathy for them. Sexism rules.
I see it as payback for making Morrigan disappear at the end.

Wouldn't this actually invalidate Morrigan's plan to have the archdemon inhabit the fetus, since it requires the fetus to be tainted? She specifically says at one point that the child would carry the taint... Or is that part of the dark ritual we're not privy to?A Grey Warden can have a child... just not with another Grey Warden. So in the case of Alistair being married to a female PC the only possible result is no heir (unless Alistair has a child with someone other than his wife, I suppose). Grey Wardens have a limited chance of conception with a non-Grey Warden, but it does happen... and the child is not tainted in any fashion.

I don't get that either. How the hell do you just up and take the PCs child without so much as "Goodbye see you on the upside slick." Oh well.
