I have sympathy for my sister Wardens, we as men do no have an uber hot lady Warden with which we can romance in a helpless endeavor to make babies. I find that very unfair and now I think my heart is broke-d too.

Well, if our sister wardens were über-hot, I might feel sympathy for them. Sexism rules.

I see it as payback for making Morrigan disappear at the end.

I don't get that either. How the hell do you just up and take the PCs child without so much as "Goodbye see you on the upside slick." Oh well.

For the sole reason to foreshadow the potential use of the line 'I am your Father' in future installments of the game, of course!

A Grey Warden can have a child... just not with another Grey Warden. So in the case of Alistair being married to a female PC the only possible result is no heir (unless Alistair has a child with someone other than his wife, I suppose). Grey Wardens have a limited chance of conception with a non-Grey Warden, but it does happen... and the child is not tainted in any fashion.

Wouldn't this actually invalidate Morrigan's plan to have the archdemon inhabit the fetus, since it requires the fetus to be tainted? She specifically says at one point that the child would carry the taint... Or is that part of the dark ritual we're not privy to?

I assume the passing on of the taint has something to do with the ritual itself? (David Gaider's word is law?)

Well you DO get to chase after her, you do get a slide that says your magical rings brings you close and you can feel her presence. See what that is? Hope.

I'd like to think my pc was uber hot, but I was actually aiming more for cute. not that anyone can tell since i have the xbox version and the character uploader doesn't work. that and she has really huge, doe eyes, so the look doesn't really lend towards uber hot.

Even though I'm a mom, it has always disturbed me when "happily ever after" in books, movies, and television meant settling down and popping out kids. Breeding does not equal the ultimate summation of romantic love, and it's actually refreshing and brave to see this portrayed (the movie "Up" comes to mind) in media.

And really, much like vampires, Grey Wardens shouldn't be having babies.

So... chasing a woman through forests, thick swamps, beasts and worse with no hope of finding her or the child is somewhat better than having hot romps through the royal bedchamber every night in a scientific experiment to disproof the allegation that Grey Wardens cannot have babies with each other?

Women are cruel, cruel creatures.

But, what about continuing the Theirin line >.> if you don't want to have kids, don't become Queen, it'll result in something bad when Alistair dies. If you want to take on those responsibilities, part of it is having kids :|

It's not that settling down and having kids is my pc's only goal, she's a tough and determined girl, but that doesn't make it any less disappointing she can't be the mother of the children for the man she loves.

She'll still stay with him through thick and thin but it's very VERY bittersweet that the one woman Alistair hates, and consequently, one of my pc's best friends, is the mother of his child. It's something special and a privilage my own character doesn't have chance of having.

At least you're forward. None of that shy nonsense.

Edit: I can't spell.

I know, but I'm trying to see life as a male on the bright side. Lucky Ali, getting it on with Anora every night while I'm out in a cold swamp with Zevran and Oghren. *grumbles*

Actually, isn't it one of the ending that you 'sort of' find her, with the ring. Like you feel her or something?

And one of the game devs just told us it wasn't happening for two grey wardens, so their is no experimenting involved. Just two barren people going at it. Would be good for modern times but not so for a king and queen.

But you should know this before your PC goes for Alistair he did say it be hard to have kids. Thats the price for being a warden

Alistair said is was difficult, not impossible. My pc can entertain the notion of faith and hard work will preserve them and reward their efforts.

David said impossible. The buck stops here, end, nada, nothing. His word overrides Alistair's.

The "no lack of trying" part is what he refers to.
