please have pateince with the host of Silver/Bronze players (me included) that you will be playing with this weekend for operation.  We mean well, we will try our best but we may be a bit of a burden who knows some of us may surprise ourselves and find out we are better than we thought.

Please offer some tips for us in this or other threads for weapon and gear load outs to handle the reaper forces for this challenge.  (What gear and upgrades do I go after, which ones do I avoid?  What classes do you suggest we play for best chance of survival to extraction?)

play cookie cutter builds (sal inf for survivability) with a decent weapon that you're used to.

I'm so ready for this. I've got my level 6 Drellguard with a Revenant and a Javelin prepped for srs gold pwnage!

EDIT: For real though, I'd say pick the class you're most comfortable with and go to town. Don't forget to use your rockets/medigels/survival packs/thermal clip packs. If you've got the respec cards (or the time to grow a character), you might pick powers that focus a little more on armor.

I'm totally cool with unexperienced casual players as long as they use their consumables. :wizard:

The best advice I can give you to find a nice quiet spot on the map to sit down, shut up, and enjoy your free Commendation Pack.

****.

[/LIKE A BAWSE]

...In all seriousness just support your team the best way you know how without being a serious burden. Use your god damn equipment and consumables, run objectives intelligently, STICK WITH YOUR TEAM, equip half decent weapons and for the love of MacGyver reruns DO NOT PLAY UNFAMILIAR classES OR RAMBO.

Oh, and know that regardless of how hard you try someone will hate you so don't sweat it.

If you've not got great weapons go for a high level biotic class - otherwise use whatever you're most comfortable with (at a decent level; at least 15).

... and don't be afraid to use a rocket if things go pear shaped.

That's about it; you'll be fine on Gold, it's not that hard, just expect bucket loads more enemies that you can't OHK and that's it really.

Read the guides on the forum, try a few matches to get a feel of the maps - where the spawn points are, ammo crate locations etc. If you are not comfortable with boss characters then focus on quickly taking out the weaker enemies. Just have fun and save the missiles for later rounds!

Learn how armor damage reduction works, and pick a weapon that can actually damage armor.

As in use the armor penetration mod on my weapon and armor penetrating  rounds?  I thought that was reserved for cerberus or is that equally as useful for the amor properties of reapers?

Easiest solution for gold is to just use teamwork. Look at the powers each teammate is using, act accordingly. My guess you will find a lot of adepts, so using reave to prime or if your with AJ and or DA use characters to set off their primes. If you like guns, cover is your friend. Know when to use your consumables, like rockets for first target on wave 10 and please use medi-gel during hack objectives. Also stay with your team or at least close, you won't survive long doing a kamikaze into a group of enemies and will get your teammates killed when they try to revive. Lastly just use your mic let teammates know your new to gold, most likely will have someones willing to help you in lobby.

I am not elite but average gold player but I will answer anyway.

They are called consumables, not hordeables please use them.

If you do not have medi-gel or rockets then save up some cash buy a couple of jumbo equipment packs and then come play.

Incendiary and cryo work well against Reapers.

Load up a Falcon or scorpion with cryo IV, hit spawn points let teammates finish off

Don't worry Beerfish, it'll be a cinch. Just reference this brave marine's line when playing against the Reapers...

"I like to keep this for close encounters."

If you get the reference, you'll do fine. If not, guess you'll find out if there is a bar in heaven.

Right, I just want to say one thing.

Only use medi-gel if it's too risky for a teammate to come save you. That is all. Have fun, I'll see you on the field.

No. As in use a slow firing weapon like a Paladin, or a high damage shotgun like the Claymore or Wraith with AP ammo IV.

Armor reduces the damage of each bullet by 50. Rapid fire weapons like the GPR (does around 30 damage per bullet) are almost totally ineffective, seeing as Brutes have 9000 points of armor each on gold.

You really should use an AP mod on every weapon that doesn't have innate AP, but it won't help much with a full auto weapon vs Reapers.

Kick button exists just for such cases.
Jokes aside I'd welcome anybody to fight Reapers on gold, most just prefer to pick Cerberus or farm geth on fbw. Glacier Reapers with non-biotic squad is real fun.

Don't worry man! Even if you're not very good, two good gold players can usually carry two bad ones. I PUG almost exclusively, and I finish gold most of the time. If you need a hand this weekend, PM me. EDIT: or just shoot me a message via Live.  Checked your manifest and it said 360. (End Edit) We should bring back Operation Carry. I know that was helpful last time. I tried posting in it again, but it rapidly sank off-page.

I don't plan on carrying any Bronze-level players this weekend. I'm fine with Silver.

Everyone has a Carnifex, go put it on a competent, easy to play power class, and start spamming your powers efficiently. If you can half aim and can manage to mash the Overload button whenever you see a group or something with shields, keep your drone alive, and hit all the big armored things with Incinerate, you'll make a decent human engineer that's making it very easy for my character to pick apart all the guys you've already stripped the shields off of/weakened, for one example.

Combine something like that with being willing to use all your equipment to help the team through the match, and you'll be fine. But don't blow it early on, you're going to need it on wave 10, you can manage on wave 3.

Thanks very much for that and I just learned why I was getting very frusterated in a match the other day when my rapid fiore weapon was doing jack S*** damage against low level foes.

Paladin over talon?  Both over carnifex?  Those are the pistols I use for my drell adept.

Silver players are typically worse than the players who only show up in gold on weekend events, in my experience.

At least some of them use their mics and will listen when a better player is trying to help.
