Krogan sentinal, Harrier, Disruptor ammo, Incinerate, tech burst.

Equip Grenade mod or assult rifle mods, spec for power damage, equip adrenaline mod 3 for speed.

Harrier take Armor piercing and scope

You should be quick even with a Krogan, survivability should be higher than normal and you should to decent damage between the tech bursts and harrier

use rockets in smart way [mostly on banshees], get high level characters, preferably biotics, listen to squad leader

If you don't play gold normally and want to do it for the challenge weekend just take an infiltrator with a krysea

Eh, no. I've seen too many Inf./Krysae people who plainly suck to know that this isn't a WinCombo™ on an inexperienced player. The funny thing is, a couple of times when I've met such people, I've asked them what they really play, and they've done reasonably well with them in the second match. Turns out, too many believe they have to use the "OP" builds in Gold because everyone else have told them.

If you feel comfortable with something in Silver, there's little reason why you'd do badly in Gold, though you may not be the Terminator. Stick with it. Don't change into something über that you didn't practice with beforehand.

Also, with reapers, DO NOT STAY IN COVER FOR LONG! I see this tip too much, without an added precaution not to stay too long. There are Banshees everywhere, and if you don't MOVE FROM COVER TO COVER, SpaceMILF™ will come for you; she's lonely and will give you a hug.

I'm one of those Bronze players that does a little Silver and to date, only one Gold (intentionally). Was walked through the Gold match by the team leader who did a great job, but that was against Cerberus, not Reapers.

This is the first game I've ever played MP, all others were SP games and my playing style has been jarringly altered by MP, so from that perspective, I am a total noob, but with a high N7 score.

I spend most of my play leveling up a character, then promote as soon as I get to 20. I only use consumables on Silver or Gold (when I get there intentionally), so stockpile for this weekend is not a problem.

I have most of the weapons, many at X. Whether it is my personality, fighting style or whatever, the best weapon combo for me has been the Mattack X, AP, EB and the Phalanx X, AP, EB. I've tried the various shotguns, probably happiest with the GPS. I got used to the Hurricane I, used it with my Turian Sentinal, but then switched back to my default weapons. I used to use the Raptor X a lot, before switching to the Phalanx, but now I only use the Raptor X with my Salarian Infiltrator. Tried other sniper rifles, but the Raptor seems to work best for me, even if its damage is far lower than the Widow or Black Widow. Tried other pistols, but have more success with the Phalanx X.

I've played all the classes and most of the races (have not done Batarian or Vorcha yet). My favorite is the Asari Adept Justicar. I am a huge spammer of Reave and prefer the defensive bubble to the attack bubble. While tromping around as a Krogan soldier, killing all things is huge fun for me, I am probably much better in the roll of AAJ, spammer of Reave, triggerer or primer of BE. Next best is my role as a Quarian Male Engineer.

Long post, but here is the bottom line, I really hate being a drag on a team. If I play Gold, I will need help (yes, I have a mic and I do listen to advice). I will use consumables (for Silver and Gold). I join circles. I can stay in cover. I won't use rockets until the higher waves. I revive. I use medigel when it makes sense (Phantom, two Guardians and three Centurions surrounding me, with an Atlas blocking the door, ummm, no). As best as I can tell, for Reapers, warp is the best ammo upgrade (some say cryo, but that seems to be mainly for shotgun users). I typically use the AR V bonus. That leaves what to use with shields and weapons. Another AR upgrade? For shields, boost them or boost biotics? My AAJ goes for max speed on powers, max power otherwise, keep my weapons load down to speed my CD, plus go for lightening the weapons load vs improving weapon effectiveness.

I play on PC and will be busy building up my AAJ to be at 20 to start Friday.

I've only finished Gold twice - once each time we had to for a promotion.
I don't kill much, but I max out the defense on my Justicar's Biotic shield, and throw it around the nearest experienced sniper's favourite firing position. Then I cover their butt no matter what.
Same thing with the Geth Engineer, I max out the turret's shield restoration abilities, stick to the nearest experienced sniper, and revive/cover him/her at all times.
I may not get much experience, but I know I'm at least helping the good players do what they do better.

Don't do what some idiots do and run out there like a one-man army. It's not going to end well, you'll be surrounded by enemies, teammates won't be able to get to you, then chances are, rage quit as a result.

Also, this may be just me but I really get annoyed when me and two of my teammates are holding down one room and the fourth person is running around the map, which causes the spawn to change and, most of the time, they would spawn behind me.

Gold isn't that hard so long as people focus fire a single target and revive fallen teammates quickly.

Yes, advanced level'd weapons do help, but a good teamwork dynamic can let you go all 10 rounds with minimal problems.

Oh....and use cover a lot! Way too many people forget this in the heat of focus fire.

A really good character to play against reapers is the human engineer. Banshees are just soooo clueless with they see your combat drone. Not to mention you can send your drone to spawn right behind your target.

Damage/reacharge/Shield Strip Upgrades to overload also work very well against barriers.
same with
Damage/Recharge/Armor-Damage upgrades to Incinerate are amazing versus armor.
It's one of the reasons that I usually use Human Engineer classes for Gold.
