 As the title says , i downloaded and installed the 'Extended cut ' dlc from the psn store before starting a new game with a me2 import. In my first play through i didnt get the extended scenes or the detailed endings . Then my friend informed me that i must play the game once and then load the post campaign save  prior to the cerberus base assault. I did that but im still not getting the extended scenes. This is truly depressing. Ive refrained myself from watching the vids on youtube till now . Please help. ;(

Stupid question: Have you installed the extended cut? I mean once you downloaded it, you have the extended cut that appears just below the cd (select quit the game then highlight the extended cut and select triangle key to launch the install)

Yes ,I' have installed the extended cut after downloading it. I double checked this. Theres even a 1.9gig file in the Mass Effect DLC & Patches folder in Game data and i dont have any other dlc besides the free multiplayer add ons which are only 150-200 mb in size. I played thru the game 3 times before the cerberus base assault , nothing has changed. Why would this happen

Also the FAQ and sevral websites mention a 'Legend' save. What is that? i dont have anything like that even after completing the game :S.

is it explicitly mentioned as 'Legend' or is it the auto save file after u complete the game ?? :S if thats the case then its not working >.<

Try deleting the patch/dlc file and reinstalling the EC. That's the only advice I could give you. Also, make sure you download all your DLC from the same psn account, to make sure they are in the correct region and language. (probably not the issue, but still worth mentioning)

Onto it. deleted the dlc files , download in progress. If it still doesnt work then ill just have to rely on youtube to get my 'Extended cut fix'

Could be because the dlcs are region locked , i downloaded and installed this dlc from my US alt account .

You need the EC DLC from the PSN Store matching the region of your game. The one from the US Store only works if you have the US Version of the game and for the EU game you need the DLC from one of the EU Stores.

The legend-save is just the auto-save when you finish the game. But you don't need this for the EC. Just load any save at the end to see the new ending.

^^ Yes you're right. I downloaded the EC from the UK psn store and its working , All 3 endings have been improved upon ,But the refusal ending was pretty much a slap in the face was expecting a nice battle scene unto death . Either way , thanks for the help.

I'm not sure how it works on PS3, but on Xbox 360, I had fully downloaded the DLC and played with no extendeded endings.  I did a checking of the system's memory, and the DLC was corrupt.  To find this in Xbox, there is a yellow circle with an exclamation mark inside of it.  It may be the same for you.  It happens during big (1.9 gig) downloads.  Try redownloading the file and playing.  I'm not sure if you can on PS3, but check to make sure it isn't currupt before your start.

You do not need to do a full playthrough over, and you do NOT need to do one playthrough, then play the ending again.  This is misinformation, you're friend is WRONG.  Even if it is your FIRST playthrough and you have the Extended Cut DLC, the extended ending will play.  If you load a save that is after you started the assault on the Cerberus base, then you will not see the Extended Cut.  This is because Mass Effect 3 does not consider any new DLC installed after you launch the assault, it will only consider DLC installed before the assault and through the assault.  The Extended Cut only affects Earth, most notably after you hit the destroyer with the missiles, but you still must play right before the Cerberus base, but it is not true that you must beat it once, go back, and beat it again to see it.

Edit: I take this back.  I do believe the Extended Cut DLC is an exception to this rule.  While things like war assets won't count after you assault Cerberus, you may be able to use the DLC after the assault, if it is installed after.

This felt like an inside joke by BioWare to the various videos of people shooting Starchild in the face.  C'mon... you know you did it.
