Was this your reaction to the upcoming weekend event?  "Oh great, Gold... and Reapers, isnt that super." Then this thread is for you! I am extending an olive branch from the more experienced players that are ready, willing and patient enough to help others with this challenge. If you are willing to help this weekend and arent annoyed by people asking you questions on play styles, character class builds, etc; please leave your gamertag here so that less experienced players can join in the fun and participate in the gold challenge! I am asking that veterans only leave gamertags and platform they play on, less experienced guys are more than welcome to leave feedback and comment, but if you would like to recieve help I am asking that you actively get it by seeking out a GT listed on the thread. I hope this idea works! Good luck...

**edit on 7/11**  -- thanks to all those willing to participate. after reading the posts on this thread I have a few rules that should make this run smoother.
1) When you are ready to play the gold challenge -- that is the time to come on this forum and write your GT down as well as your PLATFORM and whether you are a mentor or rookie looking to learn the game! This way their will not be issues of trying to meet up at different times to help out rookies or for rookies to find mentors
2) I am suggesting a ratio of 3:1 or 2:2 -- mentors:rookies. For mentors looking to help but needing other veterans, they can meet up on this forum as well at the time they are willing to get on and help...
3) For people looking to be helped win gold - Please have a few characters maxed out for this weekend (lvl 20). Your mentor can help you choose the correct class to help compliment theirs or there are other threads out there which give suggestions for fighting reaps this weekend.
4) Mentors/Veterans -- I obviously do not need to tell you how to play this game, but I would suggest also having a high level character when helping this weekend. I personally almost never use a lvl 20 character as I often promote right away. But in an effort to be most effective, I may keep my adept and infiltrator classes maxed out for this weekend and have fun with my other classes in the meantime.
5) Rookies/newer guys to gold - you are not here to leech or get a free ride... Learn from you vets and be as productive as possible. Remember that we are taking the time to help create the next generation of Vets!
6) Have fun! I am excited to help but have limited time this weekend....so make some new friends on this forum when you can get on this weekend. Happy hunting.

You shouldn't feel intimidated by gold. It's not that difficult, but I tend to stick to silver since I find it more fun.+

When I see that on Silver we are swarmed with Banshees and Brutes during the extraction and barely make it out alive I am amazed some people manage to survive in Gold...

@Mgamerz, I created this thread so that players wouldnt have to feel like leeches. Besides this ensures that players wanting to participate arent getting kicked from lobbies with vet players who dont feel like helping. No harm in that. I am glad you think gold is not intimidating but I am here to help people that do for a couple days.

That's because on Gold you don't wait around in the extraction zone to get swarmed :-) Had a N730 last night (who had otherwise performed quite admirably)  run straight for the extraction zone, consequently leading all the heat there. Well done.

The common mistake noobs make during wave 11 is trying to hold out the LZ for the whole wave, burining all of their missiles on targets that immediately respawn a few meters away from where the last one was destroyed.

A better tactic is to move away from the extraction zone until the last 30-40 seconds, then run to the extraction zone, that way it's not crawling with enemies.

I won the only two times I joined a gold match..and I think I had a cheater on the group (I was seeing rocket launchers all over the place). This was even before knowing about the rocket launcher glitch, by that time I felt like a leecher, and I stopped joining gold matches and only tried bronze matches.

I'm still learning to stay alive on silver matches...I can't imagine entering a gold match again.

I'm down to run with people. I'm likely to be running on Saturday during the day on PC. I'm new to Gold, but fairly competent at it most days (I almost always top Public Silvers now, and usually don't end last in Gold). I'm usually no good for hosting, though. Origin ID is AnubisTPF.

I never kick anyone from the lobby (should mention I always play with randoms) I usually simply leave if I feel from the look of the loudouts that the game will not go well. This weekend however I won't do that either.

As long as your N7 rank isn't 1 I'll gladly do what I can to get you a commendation pack. Doubt I will form up groups to run thought but I'll continue with my normal joining random lobbies.
